I smile at Betty and she hugs me, walking into the house. "Hey, how are you?" I ask.
"I've been better, how are you?" She asks and dad brings in her bags.
"Do you want to talk about it?" I ask.
A smile appears on her face. "Yeah, I would, actually."
"Let's head up to my room, we can talk there."
She nods and we all up to my room she stares around and smiles before taking a seat on my bed. I sit down next to her and smile.
"So, what's going on?" I ask.
"Well, I told Archie about the job your dad offered me and how I'm going to take it and we got in this huge argument...and he dumped me."
"What? Really?"
"Really."
"Oh, Betty. I'm sorry." I hug her. "Are you okay?"
"I'm actually a lot better than I thought I would be."
"Well, if you need to talk, I'm here. I'm actually, right down the hall." I smile and she smiles back.
"Betty, you're things are in your room."
"Thank you, mister Jones." She says and dad walks back downstairs.
She takes in a breath and her hand brushes over mine before she stands up and walks out of my room and down the hall to hers. That girl will be the death of me.
