Hometown

Saturday

    Betty lays on my chest with Maya sitting at the end of the bed, focused on the tv. I kiss the top of Betty's head and Cheryl walks in, sitting next to Maya. Juniper and Dagwood come back in with Hershey and everybody piles onto the bed.
    "Kids, I was thinking we could all go to the zoo and leave aunt Betty and Jughead alone for a little bit."
    "Cher, I said I would watch them."
    "I know, but as the cousin, I have to insist."
    Betty sighs. "Okay."
    All of the kids cheer and run out of the room with Cheryl. The front door closes and silence fills the room. I sit up and Betty crawls into my lap, kissing me. I wrap my arms around her back, pulling her closer to me.
    "Juggie, I'm ready." She says, pulling her lips off of mine.
    "Are you sure?"
    She nods, kissing me again. After a few hours, we lay breathless next to each other.
    "Wow." I breathe out.
    "Yeah." She agreed.
    "I love you."
    She turned to face me. "I love you too."
    I bring our lips back together and we hear the front door open.
    "Shit!" She exclaims, rolling off of the bed and quickly pulling her clothes on. I do the same before Cheryl, the kids and the dog all come into the room.
    "Betty." Cheryl said, looking amused.
    "What?"
    "Your shirt is inside out."
    Betty flushes. "Oh."
    "Do you want us to leave or..."
    "No, you can stay." She says, smiling.
    "Why don't we all go to the movies?" I suggest. "I'll go get everyone else and we can all go."
    "Sounds good, Jughead I need your help with something." Cheryl says, grabbing me by the wrist.
    We head down to Cheryls apartment. The door closes and Toni is sitting on the couch eating a bowl of noodles.
    "Jughead if you hurt her I swear I will tear your throat out and feed it to you."
    "I won't, Cher. Calm down."
    "I can't have her spiral again."
    "Cheryl, I plan on marrying Betty. I never want to hurt her ever again."
    Cheryl's expression turned from angry to happy in a split second. "Really?"
    "Yeah, but she wants to take things slow and that's what I plan on doing."
    "Jughead, it took two hears for you guys to do or say anything. I really think it's time."
    I shrug.
    "I'll mention it in the bathroom to Ronnie and Ronnie will bring it up to Betty." Toni says, tossing her bowl in the sink.
    "Okay, cool."

Betty's POV

    I stand in the bathroom with Ronnie while the kids use the stalls and she glances over at me before speaking.
    "So, I was talking to Sweetpea and I want him to propose. Then I got to thinking about everybody else and...what about you and Jughead. I mean, you've been together for years. Would you marry him?"
    I pause to ponder the suggestion. "I'm not sure. So did Sweetpea propose or we're you just thinking about it?"
    "I've been dropping hints, but he hasn't yet. So if Jughead proposed to you right now, would you say yes?"
    I lean up against the sink and sigh. "Yes."
    Ronnie smiles. "I'm glad."
    "Jug and I had sex today."
    "What?!" She cries out with a chuckle. "Go Betty!"
    "Go me!" I say with a smile.
    "So, do you guys wanna have kids or..."
    "We haven't talked about it. I know I do."
    "You should talk to him about that."
    "Yeah..."
