Bitter Salt

Jungkook POV

I smashed the classroom window with a large rock and jumped right though the broken glass, how dare this average alpha take my omega as his. I saw Tae trembling he was crying, Bogum took advantage of his heat, I'll fucking kill him. Tae is mine, mine to me and anyone who touches my mate will meet the same fate.

I yanked Bogum away from Taehyung and threw him against the floor, i placed my boot on his head and began applying pressure he growled grabbed my shoe and twisted. I fell, this dirty aIpha's dick was still out and limp by now, i could easily tear it off.

I climbed on top of him and began punching his face, my fists meeting his white skin over and over again until it was covered in blood, the features that our classmates adored no longer recognizeable.

I felt a sudden urge to get on my knees and bow my head, Tae was demanding it and i couldn't refuse, a salty sea breeze drowning me and the rest of the alphas in the classroom. I stopped what i was doing and bowed. Bogum was unconcious he stayed on the ground blood gushing from his nose. I couldn't look up but judging by the sudden silence followed by Yoongi speaking to Tae, my omega was now safe. Someone soon rushed into class, i still couldn't look up i only hoped whoever came inside wouldn't hurt Tae.

It wasn't until about ten minutes after Tae left the classroom that the other alphas and myself were able to regain control of our bodies, i felt weak and disoriented. The other alphas couldn't stand and walk a few steps without falling to the floor again.

Yoongi came back into the classroom while we were still trying to gather ourselves. He helped me up and placed my arm around his shoulders, Bogum was barely regaining conciousness as he sat up.

"Fuck you Jungkook." Bogum muttered, "Tae wanted me he completely forgot about you, he moaned my name over and over again, he was wet for me, he's mine now." He laughed through his swollen lips. "I fucked Mr. True alpha's mate. You know how long i waited for that, as soon as i found out he was omega i wanted to be in him, then i found out he was your mate and i knew i had to fuck him. You know how patient i had to be with that fucking omega to penetrate 'The Jeon Jungkook's' mate? Any time you fuck him he'll think of me." I was too weak to do anything. Yoongi couldn't help himself from kicking Bogums stomach before we headed out. Bogum groaned and placed his hands on his abdomen spitting out blood through his busted lips.

"You took advantage of an omega's heat, see you in court you piece of shit. The quiet one's are always the worst ones." Yoongi growled.

He informed me of Tae's whereabouts, but warned me of not being able to go near him until all of his pheromones were gone or i would become weak again. He walked me into my father's office, who was pacing back and forth in the room.

"Goodness, hows Tae? How's my son's mate?" He directed towards Yoongi. "Was he hurt, did any alphas hurt him?"

"He could be better." Yoongi said roaming the ground with his eyes.

My father examined me and stopped his eyes at my wound, his eyebrows furrowd and he looked angrier than i had ever seen him. "Did someone take advantage of your mate? I'll have him expelled and placed in jail. He'll rot in there I'll make sure of it."

"That would be great", i cursed except i knew perfectly well how alphas like Bogum end up. He'd get a slap on the wrist and be on his way to the next victim, the law doesn't protect Taehyung. It doesn't care for omegas, it takes care of wealthy alphas and their family names. I am so sorry Tae, i should've been there i failed you. I am worthless.

It wasn't until late at night that Mr. Kim called and let me know Tae was at home, shivering either from his heat or fear he wasn't sure. Everyone in their family took turns laying next to his sleeping trembling body but nothing eased the shaking. They wanted me to go over and see if i could help, but i was required to take a suppressant, the last thing my omega needed right now was a rutting alpha.

When i got to the Kim residence i could see they had been crying, i failed them too. They tried to be as hospitable as the situation allowed, i had already taken the suppressant at home and it would last 3 days. I walked upstairs to Tae's bedroom and his scent was pure salt, not a sea breeze but bitter sodium chloride, he was afraid. My heart sank deeper the closer i got to his door, "I'm sorry Taehyung", was all i could think of saying if he accepted me in his bed.

As i opened the door i almost had to leave, the sharp salty aroma stronger than i could've imagined. He laid under the covers shaking and sniffling, I did this to him, I don't deserve him.

"Tae? Darling?" I received no answer, i would beg him for forgiveness before leaving this room. I approached the bed and uncovered his face he was still sleeping, tears falling from his eyes even when he slept.  I crawled under the covers with him and placed his head on my chest, "my heart beats for you Taehyung." I whispered. His dearest lavender scent once again emitting from him and pushing the saltiness out of his room. His body slowly stopped shaking along with his tears, his snores became deep and endearing. He was at peace. I am home when i am with him. I began getting incredibly tired and the lavender scent lulled me to sleep.

The next morning i felt him squirming in bed, i was so happy when i realized we had spent the night together. He tried getting out of bed, i was still tired and i wanted him to stay in bed with me the covers were so warm with both of us in them. "Where is my omega off to?" I questioned smiling while i wrapped my arms around him looking at the back of his bed hair. He makes me so happy, i can't lose him.

"Let go alpha." He spoke coldly the air once again bitter.

Author POV

"Tae please listen to me, I'm sorry, if you let me stay by your side I promise i'll do better i know i'm worthless as an alpha protecting his mate, but please Tae don't do this I love you so much i can't imagine my life without you. Please Tae." The alpha begged tears streaming down his face and furrowing his nose in the omega's hair.

Tae was confused, how could the alpha be apologizing after what Tae had done. "Alpha you were right omegas are dusgusting, don't apologize to me after you saw me with Bogu-"

"Don't fucking mention that name Tae or i swear i'll look for him and murder him." The alpha suddenly growled. "He took advantage of your weak state Tae, my father is already looking into lawyers to see what we can do. None of this was your fault. It was mine for not being a good mate, i should've been there Tae. You're my mate Tae. Mine, and i don't want to lose you to your heat. I don't want to lose you to my incompetence. I'll do better, please forgive me Tae. Stay with me." The alpha was holding onto the omega like his life depended on it.

"Mine to me?" The omega's voice cracked. His alpha was taking blame for Tae's heat, for Tae's mistakes, for Tae's betrayal. He knew it wasn't right but he couldn't afford to lose his mate. "I'll do better alpha, i'll be more cautious."

"Mine to me precious omega."

Tae began bawling in his alpha's arms, how could someone be so beautiful internally, so forgiving, and loving. He'd do better for his mate. Any trace of bitter scent vanished, a delicate lavender and fresh evergreen with sweet apples permeated the air and soon filled the house. The mates were at peace.
