I'll Wait

Two weeks had passed since the incident, Tae's heat had passed and Jungkook avoided laying a finger on the omega sexually, Taehyung had gone through so much. The omega was staying home for the duration of his heat because he hadn't felt up to doing much, he was still somewhat on edge after what had happened. Tae had collected plenty of Jungkook's hoodies, blankets, and over sized t-shirts covering his bed entirely. The alpha's scent soothed the omega whenever Jungkook was at school and Tae would suffer anxiety attacks, which were mostly triggered by dreams  of being unwillingly entered and the smirk from his dream, reminding him of just how easy it was to lose control of himself.

Namjoon and Hoseok had visited Tae almost daily trying to cheer him up. Jungkook was spending his nights at the Kim residence, everyone was trying to make Tae feel as comfortable and guarded as possible which meant having his alpha around him as much as the omega needed.

It was Sunday afternoon, Tae was sitting up on bed with Jungkook resting his head on the omega, Tae ran his slender fingers through the alpha's jet black hair, loving how smooth and silky it felt under his fingers. Joon and Hobi were sitting on a chaise meant for 2, Yoongi joined them bringing a comfortable chair from his room and plopping himself on it, focused on his phone staying silent but enjoying the friendly ambiance that radiated from the conversations surrounding him.

"When do you think you'll be ready to head back to school with us? I miss having you around, Yoongi doesn't even smile at my jokes." Hobi grunted while shooting the uninterested alpha a playful glare.

"I think i'm ready to go back if you miss me on campus that much." Tae laughed, he could picture the loud ball of sunshine that Hobi is, walking around with a serious cat-like Yoongi. He missed their walks while laughing at everything and nothing together.

"Hey, he needs to feel safe and if that's at home buried under Guk's smelly clothes, then he can stay here as long as he wishes. He's been doing the school work anyway." Namjoon snickered, overprotective of his now third little brother.

"My clothes don't smell, if Tae likes the smell then i must have the best scent in the entire universe, right little omega?" Jungkook smirked as his eyes met Taehyung's. "Whenever you're ready to return, we'll all be waiting except this time I'll hold your hand and help you hold your head high if need be, this time i want everyone to know you are my mate and how proud i am of you."

The other alphas in the room began grumbling about how cheesy Jungkook was being, but their smiles gave away just how much they enjoyed seeing the happy pair.

A couple of hours had passed and laughter had faded, Yoongi left to meet Jimin and Hoseok had gone back home to talk to his mate on the phone like they did every single day. Namjoon, Jungkook and Tae were the only ones left in the room.

"I think I'm ready to go back Kook." The omega smiled shyly, the conversation from earlier boosting his confidence.

"Whatever you want Tae." The alpha smiled back.

Namjoon's expression however turned more serious than usual, he had to inform the mates of what had happened with Bogum and how routines were to be followed in school for a little while until the elite alphas got used to an omega attending classes with them. "You guys i need to talk to you about Tae going back on campus if he decides to do so."  He had both of their full attention. "Bogum has been absent from school, but he hasn't been expelled yet, he's been resting to heal his injuries."

"What do you mean?" Jungkook flinched at the name he hadn't seen the alpha in school so he assumed he had already been expelled, how could he face the guy that took advantage of his omega without killing him as soon as he laid eyes on him?

Namjoon turned his attention to his little brother, "Dad is having a tough time convincing the rest of the alpha school board to allow this expulsion, they had already warned him about possible scenarios when they accepted Tae. Most only allowed Taehyung on campus to prove a point if anything were to go wrong. Bogum was an outstanding student, and Tae was in heat when that alpha took advantage of him. You know how alphas like to blame everyone but themselves when they take advantage omegas, some older alphas are turning their opinions around though, so dont lose hope." Joon then turned his attention to the omega, "he won't come near you Tae, he is prohibited from contacting you. Jungkook has been placed in all of your classes, and Yoongi and Hobi will take turns being TA's for your professors. It won't be easy Tae but them accomodating to you is already a step in the right direction, they are taking your safety into consideration." The alpa weakly smiled, "a better future for omegas is near we just have to push towards it Tae."

That's all it took for Tae to know exactly what he was going to do to change society and make others more accepting of omega's. "I'll take the first step into that future hyung." Tae spoke gripping Jungkook's hand firmly.

"Your newly found pheromones could play a big part in either helping or weakening your case, alphas don't like to be overpowered by anyone especially not omegas, so we need to find a way of how to help you manage your pheromones, for not only your sake, but Jungkook's too. Controlling them could help you if any danger were to arise and none of us could save you Tae." The oldest alpha spoke. "Jin is going o help you with that,  he not only specializes in omegas but pheromones too. He's an otstanding nurse." Namjoon smiled taking pride in his mate's accomplishments.

The Kim's and the Jeon's had already spoken about the omega and his choices, Tae's mother feverently opposed the final decision of letting Taehyung return to school if he wished to do so, ultimately it'd be up to the omega. When they were informed of what had happened to Tae a vital piece of information was forgotten by Yoongi, Tae's pheromones. She had no idea Tae had essentially saved himself.

Namjoon had left for the night after speaking to Tae's parents about the omega's decision, giving them a run down of everything his father had already explained to them. Tae's mother didn't want to listen anymore, she would speak to Tae immediately.

She headed upstairs to his room disregarding any privacy her son might want. "Tae, honey, please stay home. Don't go back to the same place where you were hurt, no one was able to protect you in that moment." Her eyes momentarily glanced at Jungkook who was looking down to his hands, something that didn't go unnoticed by Taehyung.

"I will not live in fear of my heat nor any alpha." Tae simply put. "My alpha ran to me as soon as he perceived the danger i was in, my brother did everything he could to spare me from more alphas, accomodations are being made for my to return to classes. I will change how society sees me." His gaze was more fierce than he intended, "if you want to stop me from doing it tmorrow, that's alright' i'll respect your wishes as i expect you to respect mine when i am old enough to leave home. I'll wait until i am old enough to sustain myself, until my alpha forgives himself for not getting to me soon enough, i'll wait patiently mother for you to love every part of me, even the one that won't allow me to sit idly by when i could be doing something to help how our fellow omegas are perceived and treated. It doesn't matter how much i have to suffer as long as i can save my and other future omega pups from this kind of mistreatment." Tae spoke calmly his expression softening, he knew his mother was only trying to protect him, but she was firing shots at Tae's mate and trying to keep the omega from what he felt was his destiny.

Mrs. Kim understood just how strong her son was, he wasn't an average omega, he was so much more. She feared for his safety much more than ever, he would risk himself for the sake of others. "Taehy-"

"I'm tired mom i want to sleep. I'll get ready for school tomorrow morning, and if you decide you're not ready to see me thrive in a hostile enviornment let me know in the morning and I'll patiently wait until you're ready too." The omega rubbed his eyes, "i love you mom." Tae spoke as Mrs. Kim left the room.

"I love you too", she whispered. Her heart was uneasy, but she would do what was best for her son.
