Off With A Great New Adventure

Chapter 12

After dinner, Everett pulled me into the Emporium. It was a huge store, filled with stuffed animals, clothes, little accessories, and toys. "Stay here" he said, before running off, further into the store. I waited for a few minutes, until he came back. He came back with a bag in hand. "What did you buy?" I asked. He opened the bag and took out two sweatshirts. One was a Minnie Mouse sweatshirt. And one was a Mickey sweatshirt. He handed me the Minnie one, and then quickly put on the Mickey one. "You didn't have to" I said as I pulled the sweatshirt over my shoulders. "I know. But I wanted to" he said. I laughed. "Thanks" I thanked him gratefully. "You're welcome" he said in a kind voice. "C'mon" he said suddenly. "We're gonna miss the fireworks!". He grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the Emporium, onto Main Street. "I know the best spot" Everett said, pulling me towards the entrance. We ran up a flight of stairs to where the Disneyland Train boarded passengers. "What are we doing up here?" I asked. "Trust me, this is the best spot" he said excitedly. After two minutes, the first firework shot into the sky. "Woah!" I awed. I could tell Everett was staring at me. But I didn't care. I was too amazed at the beauty of the colorful lights bursting in the sky in front of me.

After the fireworks, I screamed and clapped like no one els. "Did you like them?" Everett asked. "That was amazing!" I screamed. "So, I take that my mission is accomplished?" Everett guessed. "Not yet" I informed him. "But I thought you liked them" he said with a confused tone. "I did, but they're fireworks. They're not really Disney related" I exclaimed. "Fine. Have it your way" he shrugged.

We ran back down the stairs and onto Main Street. We didn't go anywhere. We just goofed off and ran up and down Main Street. Laughing and skipping and running and having fun. We got a candy apple in the Confectionary. And then, we went back out to Main Street and watched the Trolley Dancers perform. During their last song, they invited everyone to dance with them. "May I have this dance?" Everett asked, holding his hand out to me. I smiled and took his hand. He pulled me up, off the sidewalk, and started to dance. I started to dance too. At the end of the song, he spun me, and I sank into a curtsy as he lowered himself into a bow. "Ladies and gentlemen, at this time the park will be closing in five minutes. Again the park will be closing in five minutes. Thank you" a voice over the speakers all over the park said. "Shall we?" Everett asked. "Yeah" I nodded. We started to head out of the park and back to the car.

When Everett dropped me off, I thanked him for everything and watched him drive away. I ran up the steps to my apartment and opened the door. "How was it?" Charlie asked immediately. "Awesome" I said. "I had a great time" I admitted. "What's that your wearing?" Charlie asked, eyeing my sweatshirt. "Oh, Everett bought it for me. He has a Mickey one" I explained. "Ooh! I think he likes you" Charlie gushed. "Haha very funny" I said, pretending to laugh. "We're just friends" I informed her.

"Mhm".

"We are!".

"Whatever you say".

I rolled my eyes. I hated when she did that. "Also, Lily, Liam stopped by here today. He told me to tell you to meet him at California Adventure tomorrow at eight o'clock" Charlie yelled to me. "Ok!" I called back. I opened the door to my room. "I can't believe it" I thought. "I have a date with Liam tomorrow!".

I woke up a six o'clock the next morning. Charlie had to work, so she was already gone. I got in the shower. Did my hair, put on my makeup. I wore a pink t-shirt, jean shorts, my white converse, and I left my hair down so I could wear my Mickey ears. The Mickey ears were pink. Charlie has custom made them for me. I didn't have to pack my bag since I hadn't unpacked from the day before. I headed to my car and started to drive.
When I got to the park it was 7:56. "Four minutes to spare" I said, pleased with myself. Once I got through security, I started to walk towards California Adventure. The parks were now open and I was looking for Liam. A few seconds later, I saw him sitting on a bench. "Liam!" I waved at him. He looked up and nodded at me. I ran over to him. "Hi" I said semi awkwardly. "Hi" he said semi awkwardly back. "You look good" he complimented me. "Thanks" I said, blushing. "What do you wanna do first?" I asked, changing the subject. "I don't know, I was sort of hoping you would tell me" he laughed. "Oh" I said. I hadn't really thought about what to do. I didn't like California Adventure as much as Disneyland. But I wasn't going to tell Liam that. "I don't care" I said to him. "How about we go to Galaxy's Edge?" he suggested. "Yeah!" I smiled. And we started to walk towards Galaxy's Edge.

When we got into Galaxy's Edge, Liam looked at me. "So, what do you want to do?" he asked. I looked around. I saw that there was a meet and greet building with Darth Vader, Chewbacca, and BB8. "Let's go meet some characters!" I said, pulling him towards the building. I heard him laugh as we entered the building. "My dad always loved Star Wars" I explained. "So, I guess I love it too. I would always watch it with him. Even now we go to see the new ones" I explained. "Yeah, my younger brother got me into Star Wars" Liam said. "Actually, he got my whole family into it" he laughed. I laughed too. We stepped forward as the line kept moving. "Who's your favorite Star Wars character?" I asked. "Definitely Chewbacca" Liam answered. "Mine is either Rey or Princess Leia" I told him. "Good choices" he nodded.

After meeting Chewbacca, BB8, and getting scared to death by Darth Vader, we decided to go on Smuggler's Run. Me and Liam got to pilot the Millennium Falcon. "That.........was awesome!" I awed as we got off the ride. "Never gets old" Liam agreed.
