Chapter 20

Everett, Charlie, and I got in the car and drove to Mrs.Well's office. The entire car ride was silent. We didn't even put on the radio. I stared out the window, praying I could get my job back. I wasn't going to admit it to Everett or Charlie, but I actually enjoyed working at Disney Land. When we got into the building we burst into Mrs.Well's office. "Mrs.Well, sorry for bursting in, but this can't wait" I said. "Ok, please, sit down" Mrs.Well said kindly. Me and Charlie sat down. Everett stood behind us. "What's wrong?" Mrs.Well asked. "So, it all started when Liam and I started dating" I began. "Penny walked up to me a few days after and threatened me, telling me to back off of Liam. But she was quite aware that we were dating. Then, Everett and I got into a fight and some things were said that really shouldn't have. And Liam overheard and hit me twice until Everett intervened. I broke up with Liam, and he swore that he would make my life miserable. The next day, Everett and I were called to a meeting with Penny, Liam, and Mr.Locks. Penny claimed that I was trying to get Liam to break up with her and that I was the one who told her to back off of Liam. She claimed that her and Liam had been dating that entire time. And that I also threatened her job. Then I got fired and Everett got demoted to stand in. After the meeting she told us she did all of this just to get our jobs. We did nothing wrong. We don't deserve to be punished" I pleaded. "It makes sense that Mr.Locks would do that, to get his daughter higher up in the industry" Mrs.Well admitted. "I believe you" Mrs.Well said after a few moments. Everett, Charlie, and I cheered. "Let me make a few phone calls" Mrs.Well said, reaching for her phone. Ten minutes later, Mr.Locks, Penny, and Liam were standing in front of us. "Locks, is it true you fired Miss Lily and demoted Mr.Everett?" Mrs.Well questioned. "Yes ma'am, that's correct" Mr.Locks said, almost proudly. "Then I'm afraid I have to fire you" Mrs.Well sighed. "As well as you two" she said looking over to Penny and Liam. Penny's mouth fell open. "Why us?" Liam demanded. "Because, I trust Lily, Everett, and Charlie. I do not trust you three" Mrs.Well explained. "That's craziness, we're not leaving!" Liam protested. "Then I'm afraid security will have to escort you off the property" Mrs.Well sighed. She signaled for the security guards, standing outside her office. They each took a person. Liam approached me. "I swear to god Lily Smith, for the rest of my life, I will never stop trying to ruin you" Liam hissed. "Let's go" the guard said, pulling him out of the room. It felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my chest. Mrs.Well turned to us. "Well, you two, you got your jobs back" Mrs.Well smiled. Charlie and I jumped from our chairs. I wrapped my arms around Everett. "We did it!" I said. "No.....you did it" he said. Our lips locked. I was at Disney. I.......was home.
