George decided it was best to occupy himself as much as possible for the day. He'd taken up recording proper, edited videos alongside his VODs and streams, in hopes of bringing in some extra money. If he kept going at the rate he was at then he would be off Nick and Clay's hands in no time and able to pay for himself fully.
That was another thing that George had been struggling with but wouldn't talk about. He felt like a burden, having to rely on Nick and Clay to make sure he could continue to pay his bills and rent. He'd been working himself to the bone in order to stop being so much of a bother and start supporting himself independently. Which might be why he'd decided on doing another unplanned stream.
"Where's Clay?" George read out, feeling a spark of disappointment in his heart. He really shouldn't be disappointed, Clay had explained that he wouldn't be able to join as often and why. "I don't know. He's probably busy." George dismissed lightly, eager to move on.
Chat often asked where Clay or Dream were, why they weren't in streams as often. George always responded the same, regardless of who it was. He's probably busy. It's the same three words that echo in his head every time he thinks about how long it had been since he'd last spoken to his boyfriend. He's probably busy.
George would have to be stupid to have not noticed the slowly growing distance between him and Clay as Clay became buried under managements expectations. George wasn't stupid. What George was, though, was dense and that's why he entirely ignored the rift working its way between them.
"Dream and Clay are both neglecting George, does that mean the position is open?" George read and giggled sadly, hoping the stream couldn't hear the way that hurt. "What position?" He asked, strained.
"No it's not." A harsh voice cut through and George wondered when Nick had joined the team speak. George always sat in an empty team speak when he streamed, just in case Clay or Nick wanted to join.
"Hey Sapnap." George greeted and the relief in his voice was almost palpable. Nick felt himself calm slightly.
"I've got dibs on being George's favourite," He stated jokingly and George laughed softly to himself, ever grateful for his best friend.
Eventually, the chat let go of the subject and George was able to get back to enjoying himself. Nick stayed in the team speak, determined to be there in case something happened. He'd seen the way George was becoming more sensitive to the subject of Clay and Dream. He wouldn't let George be alone in something like this, especially since he was the one that caused everything between George and Dream. Whatever this may be.
