"Most people are taking it really well." Vincent marvelled as he read from over Nick's shoulder while he scrolled through the comments of the video. They had just about managed to calm down to a happy buzz - having all leapt at Clay when he entered the room in order to raucously congratulate him with hugs, shouts and thumps to the back and shoulders.
Clay was sat at the dining table now, grin as wide as the Cheshire Cat, with George close at his side. George's feet were rested comfortably in Clay's lap, Clay's hands circled gently around his ankles, while Geo, Keres and Ophelia each had a hand on his shoulders or back. The one of Ophelia's hands that wasn't on Clay's back was on George's.
"A lot of people are saying the reason you posted it now is because you and George made up, they think you're together." Nick commented nonchalantly but it was clear as day what his intentions were. He was asking whether they were back together again and, frankly, doing a horrible job of pretending he wasn't.
Clay turned to George, softly squeezing his ankle. In turn, George smiled a small smile that was soft and warm and only ever made for Clay to see. The sight of the two was disgustingly sweet but, after everything they had been through, the others didn't mind letting them have their moment.
George was the first to break eye contact, looking up at Nick and looking all too joyful, all too young, after everything that had happened over the course of the last few days. Nick certainly wasn't complaining though. "We've decided to try again." George finally answered, fighting a smile. "No idea how he managed to convince me." He joked and Clay barked a laugh, tugging at George's leg. George kicked back in response, giggling.
There was a wave of warm congratulations and sarcastic 'finally's that followed the admission. "Does this mean Clark and I can give you back all the stuff you gave us?" Ophelia asked, dragging her hand up to squeeze his shoulder. George looked as though he was thinking for a moment before smiling up at her.
"Dump it all on Clay, then I get to steal it from him all over again." He decided with a mischievous glint in his eye and Ophelia laughed in response, shrugging. Clay rolled his eyes. Not so secretly, he was elated to have George wanting to steal from him again. What a weirdo.
"You're such an idiot, George." Clay murmured. The words were thick with a fond affection, eyes warm on George. George stuck his tongue out childishly, heart dragging together with the love so clear in everything Clay did. He'd believe it soon enough, he knew it, he just needed a little longer. Clay would give him all the time in the world, and George was beginning to see that.
"Clay, if you're not using it now, can I have your old room?" Geo chirped, eyes desperate and pleading. "I love Clark and Jethro, I really do, but the sexual tension is suffocating, I don't know how much more I can take." That caused a ripple of dirty giggles, Jethro's face blazing and Clark's cheeks a pretty pink around his wide, shameless grin. Clay took pity on Geo and agreed, quickly glancing at George for confirmation.
