The base of Anar Dogmas was quiet, no soul was to be found outside as they had all gathered in the main tent. It was a large tent, able to hold all the members of the gang while the men and women inside were given a speech by my uncle. The ones in the back having to strain their necks to look across the crowd and catch a glimpse of their well respected ‘leader’. My shoulders were pushed back to make myself look bigger and stronger as I stood beside my uncle whose booming voice filled the pressing air around us. “I say, let them be damned! We are the ones to decide who may rule and to have this land rot away under the curse seated on the throne, I will not allow!” My uncle shouted and lifted his fist in the air. “I will drag that demon back down to hell with my bare hands if I have to! On the oath of twelve people, I swear this!” My eyes watched how every last one of the people present lifted two fingers to their temples before placing them across their chest and cheered as loud as they could. Some day, it will be me standing in front of them, it will be me they are cheering for, it will be me they follow. I felt a hand on my shoulder, it’s fingers digging into my skin as it pushed me to start walking. I swallowed with difficulty as my uncle lead me down the stairs and out of the tent to his.

“Ha! That demon won’t know what hit it.” He slammed his hand against my shoulder before walking past me to enter his tent, me soon following after. My uncle walked around a table covered with battle plans that I’ve made together with him, this being a part where I could earn an approving pat to the shoulder. This was the only time my uncle saw use in me it seemed, although I have shown so much more potential to which he never took notice of. After hearing my suggestion on how to defeat the demon, which I almost didn’t get a chance for to tell, my uncle was delightfully surprised.

We will strike when we are least expected and as the demon doesn’t know of our existence, sneaking around the grounds of the Kingdom will be too easy. “We will kill that monster and let those people live in peace.” My uncles loud voice pulled me from my thoughts as I watched him take his place behind the table, leaning across it to get a better look of all the papers and maps scattered across its surface.

“Uncle, I….” He lifted his hand to silence me and I quickly pressed my lips together.

“Don’t let me hear that awful voice, just stay quiet.” It felt like a knife had sunk into my abdomen as I nodded my head and folded my hands behind my back. I was still standing by the opening of the tent, not daring to walk any further inside. “Tomorrow I will send a party to the castle grounds, I’ve heard the 'Queen' is planning to visit the village so it will be safe for us to infiltrate.” I lifted my head immediately after hearing of the plan, excitement lightening my eyes at the thought that my uncle would finally send me somewhere useful to our mission. But as his eyes lifted from the papers and locked with mine, I was put back in my place. “You are to stay here and keep quiet, I will not allow for you to ruin that what we have worked so hard to achieve.” Yet again these words stung and I lowered my head, biting my tongue as I remembered I wasn’t allowed to speak. “Very well then, I will get some people together and send them away.”

As I thought he was going to walk past me, he stopped in front of me which caused me to shrink. I should have kept my mouth shut. He is not happy with me. He is going to get the ice and burn me again. He is going to hurt me. I flinched as I felt his hands grab onto my arms, I screwed my eyes shut awaiting his fingers to dig into my flesh and drag me to the cell. I could hear my uncle sigh softly before he pulled me into his embrace, pulling me against his hard, but warm chest. I inhaled sharply and my hands clutched at my sides as my whole body tensed up. He is going to crush me. This feels nice. Squeeze the life out of me till the last drop. He has never hugged me before. “I love you, (Y/N).” I felt a tear escape my eye and as it rolled down my cheek I heard my uncle take a deep breath before letting me go. “But please, do something useful and stay out of the plan.” My plan.
