"Did you really think you could just sneak out without having to suffer the consequences?!" My body was limp, hanging from the arms of two gang members as they dragged me across the ground after my very upset uncle. My skin was stinging, screaming for me to stop whatever small movements my body was put in. The ice had found me again, scraping at my skin, hungry for my pain. "I care for you (Y/N), I want you to be stronger than all of us." I was dragged in an dark, old cell, the walls already looming over my broken figure as my gang members threw me down on the cold ground. I flinched in fear by feeling the cold, forcing myself to sit up on my knees.
I looked up at my uncle and gasped at the look of sympathy in his brown eyes. He does care. I like his eyes, their tender. The man gritted his teeth and his whole face contorted in anger, the tender eyes leaving me too soon. No please stay, look at me again. "But you just won't learn!" The frustration of my uncle resounding in his voice, but now his fist added a ringing in my head as it slammed against my temple. My head colliding with the ground, leaving the ringing to settle in my ears. "Why are you such a weakling." I felt spit hitting my cheek before my uncle turned around to leave, the two gang members laughing at my weak state. I don't know why uncle. I don't want to be such a disappointment. Learn for once then. I'm trying, but I'm a wretch. I want to go to the boulder again. I felt a tear roll down my bruising cheek as I blankly stared at the metal door as it closed behind the last one leaving.

I had hidden myself away in the far corner of the room, my knees pulled up to my chest and my head covered by my arms. It had become night and I started to get nervous, they haven't come back yet to collect me. What if I can't meet the kind touch at the boulder? I want to hear her gentle voice, I need it now. I jumped up at the loud sound of metal hitting metal, my eyes following the knife hitting the bars of the big metal door. "Hey Centipede, time to pole." My face turned pale and I pressed myself even further into the wall. I watched the heavy door open and in walked Clyde, a smug grin on his face as he stalked closer.
"Time to pole, isn't that nice." The young man started laughing before punching me straight in my face, sending me to the ground. I felt him grip the collar of my shirt and drag me across the ground, just like how I got here. The pole, a dark night tighted up to a large pole to let you rot. The night not letting you see any further than your own toes, placed somewhere in the forest. Anything could get you there and there was no way of defending yourself. It was up to faith to decide whether you were still worthy of your life.
I felt my whole body react to this, the cold dark night, it scared me. "No…" It came out hoarse and so soft, but still Clyde heard. He let go of me and my nose hit the stone ground again, followed by a kick to the ribs. Clyde grabbed my hair and lifted my bloody face up, letting me get a closer look of his displeased eyes.
"What did you say, you wretch?!" He screamed at me, gripping my hair even tighter. I winced in pain and clenched my jaw, tears edging closer to falling down my cheeks. "You should be grateful you only get the pole for just tonight." He let me fall back to the ground again and ordered some others to drag me outside. He’s right, I should be grateful. My uncle does care. He finds me useful enough to only give me a night by the pole. “I hope the wild life slaughters you before daybreak.” The words were hurtful, but this man wouldn’t be Clyde if what came from his filthy mouth wasn’t meant to hurt. But what scared me the most was that I wanted the wild life to take me with them, far away from all my failures.

I winched and squinted my eyes against the glaring sun, but the movement of my head turning caused the robs around my wrists to tightened their painful hold. I groaned and a soft sob crawled up my throat, but I swallowed it quickly. This is no place to be weak. But I am weak. I don’t belong here, do I? “Cut her loose and send her away, she will go to the watch-point by the lake again.” I felt rough fingers grip my chin and tilt my head up, making me to meet eyes with my uncle. “Maybe she can be of more use there.” He patted my cheek before pushing my face away as if in disgust.
