"Are you sure you have everything?" My mom asked as I climbed out of the car. After an hour of convincing, my mom agreed to letting me stay over at Aaron's house.
"Yeah I got everything here mom" I sighed. I threw my bag over my shoulder and leaned down so she could see me better. She had asked me that same question at least ten times already.
"Ok well am I picking you up or will he drop you off?" She asked
"Uh he will drop me off" I finalised.
"Alright. I love you. Call me if you need anything"
"Love you too mom" I walked towards the door but by the time I got their Aaron had already opened the door. He quickly waved at my mom before she sped off down the street.
"Hey babe" he smiled and pecked my lips before letting me in.
"Hey, you're mom isn't home?" I asked. I dropped my bag down by the door.
"I'm right here darling" a voice called from behind me. I turned around and saw his mom walking out from the kitchen with her iPad and phone in her hand. She brought me into a hug.
"Alright I'm going upstairs for a bit and please Aaron don't burn down my kitchen, it's my favourite place in this house" she said and began walking up the stairs.
I turned to him and gave him a questioning look. "What does she mean?"
He laughed and grabbed my hand. He guided me into their kitchen and on the counter were a bunch of ingredients. "I went out to Walmart earlier and thought it would be a good idea to make some cookies"
I laughed and walked over to the counter to observe what he bought. "So you know how to bake?"
He shrugged and walked over to me. "I'm the best baker you will ever meet. You should be privileged that you're even talking to me right now" he bragged
"Oh is that so?" I asked, crossing my hands over my chest
"Mhmmm" he hummed smirking
"Ok let's do a contest then. Whoever makes the best cookie wins...oh and you're mom is the judge" I challenged
His smirk immediately fell from his face. "That's not fair she practically loves you. She will obviously pick yours" he said trying to make an excuse
"Umm last time I checked, you were her son" I grabbed the hair tie from my wrist and threw my hair up into a messy bun. "Best baker wins" I said and stuck my hand out for him to shake.
He shook my hand and we got down to work. Ten minutes later we were placing our cookies onto a baking tray. I couldn't help but laugh as I looked at Aaron's 'round' cookies.
"What are you laughing at?" He frowned.
I looked at him and bit my lower lip to stop myself from laughing. He narrowed his eyes at me and gave me a look."Ok fine you're cookies aren't round" I laughed
"What? Of course they are" he said looking down at his cookies.
"No babe that's a fucking square" I laughed loudly whilst shaking my head. I don't know why but it just looked hilarious. I squatted down and hunched over with tears forming in my eyes due to my laughing.
"You think it's funny?" He glared. "I'll show you funny" he said. Next thing I know the palm of his hand came in contact with the top of my head and an egg slid down my face. There was a moment of silence as we both watched the egg land on the floor. My gaze slowly fell on him. He gave me a nervous laugh and scratched the back of his head.
