Few months later
"Mom when the girls get here just tell them to come up to my room" I said. Today was the day most eighteen year olds look forward to. Prom. The girls and I have been talking about it non stop for the last few months.
"Sure honey" she replied, not even looking up from the newspaper she's been reading for the past ten minutes. What is it with adults being so interested in the news?
I walked up the stairs and flopped down onto my bed. I began thinking of how tonight will go and what will happen.I was brought out of thoughts when my room door burst open and the girls flooded in like lost sheeps.
"Jesus give me a heart attack, why don't you?" I smiled rolling my eyes but gave them a hug.
They began taking their things out of their bags. "Wait we are getting ready now?" I asked dumbly.
They looked at me like I asked them what 2+2 is. "Well obviously we only have four hours and we have to take pictures too" Mia said in a matter of fact tone.
"Oh ok then" I answered. For the last month we have all been practicing our own various makeup looks so we wouldn't waste too much time. I hopped off my bed and pulled off my sweater, leaving me in tank top. I went over to my speaker and blasted some music.
"So who else is excited to see the boys in suits again?" Veronica squealed
"Oh my God obviously they are going to look sexy as fuck" Mia giggled
At that except moment my mom decided to walk through the door. "Who will look sexy?" She asked . She had a tray of snacks and placed it on my dresser table
"Mom" I groaned in annoyance. "We are getting ready so can you...you know..?" I asked ushering her to the door
"Ok let me know if you need anything" she said before walking out the door
Once she closed the door and turned back to my vanity mirror so I could continue my makeup. "She's so annoying" I mumbled
"Aren't all parents?" Steph joked "Now turn the speakers up"
Three hours later
"Josh just texted me. He said they are all gonna be here in fifteen minutes" Veronica said setting her phone down."So I guess we should put our dresses on now then" I said. We all took our dresses out of their protective cases and put them on. Steph had on an emerald green dress that showed her cleavage and a high slit. I had to admit it looked amazing on her, especially against her skin tone
Mia had gone for a pretty pink, sparkly layered dress and Her hair was pinned back Into a low bun.
