"Now class, I know it's the first day of school but that doesn't mean today was a day to slack off. I'll be grading you on participation. Now go get your lunch and head back here. I don't want any of you to stay out too long. In this class, you will not eat lunch outside of class. I'm pretty sure some of you who've been in the class have forgotten that." The teacher practically yelled to the class as they headed to the cafeteria to get lunch.
Huijun got scared so he decided not to get lunch. He pulled his phone out and texted Seungmin that the teacher won't let him eat lunch outside of the classroom.
"No Huijun, no phones inside the class!"
Huijun took out a piece of paper and started drawing. He didn't think he was as good as Junhyuk but he tried his best. Usually, Huijun would be writing music so he can practice his singing but he gave up on that all together once he became mute.
"Hey Huijun. I noticed you didn't go get lunch. If it's alright, I kinda brought you a tray." Minjae said, placing the tray on Huijun's desk.
Huijun wrote on a piece of paper then gave it to Minjae. Minjae read the note saying thank you in his head then said you're welcome. He sat in his seat and started eating while Huijun took nibbles at the food before then going back to the drawing.
"What are you drawing?" Minjae asked curiously, looking over Huijun's shoulder.
Huijun took out two pieces of paper then wrote on one of them then handed them both to Minjae.
"You're trying to recreate a drawing of a baby chick that a kid named Junhyuk drew for you? That's cool. He's good." Minjae said, smiling.
"Now is everyone in here? Good. Now finish eating and we'll continue from where we left off.
Huijun felt a buzz in his pocket. He looked to see if the teacher was looking then quickly pulled his phone out. It was a text from Seungmin. He unlocked his phone but before he could read the text, the teacher snatched his phone away.
"Oh well I hope you at least eat something. I know you must be hungry. Also remember to take deep breaths when you start to feel anxious." The teacher read the text aloud as she was walking to her desk.
She laughed then threw the phone in her desk.
"If any of you have your phone out, I will do the exact same thing."
All the students silently laughed and turned to Huijun. He covered his face but the teacher told him to stop and pay attention.
"Don't pay attention to them." Minjae whispered to Huijun.
Huijun looked over at Minjae, smiled, then started writing down the notes.
"Well there's the bell. Class dismissed. No Huijun, please come here."
Huijun waited for everyone to leave before going to the teacher's desk. He didn't know that Minjae stayed behind and waited at the door.
"You're taking this joke too far. Just know that I will contact your parents later today about your behavior. Now, leave."
"Wait, what about his phone?" Minjae questioned walking into the classroom.
"Ah, Song Minjae is it? How was your first day here? I hope it was well." The teacher said trying to make Minjae forget about the phone.
"No, I asked about his phone. Why won't you give it to him?" Minjae asked, growing annoyed of the teacher.
"Well Minjae, as it says in the student handbook, someone who's had their phone confiscated will need a legal guardian to come and retrieve the confiscated item in a week."
"That's for the second offence. For the first offence, the student is allowed to retrieve their confiscated item at the end of the same day." Minjae argued.
"Huijun. What's the hold up?" Seungmin asked as he stood at the door.
"Well, the teacher won't give Huijun his phone back." Minjae said unhesitant.
Seungmin walked towards the teacher with Huijun close behind him.
"Well, Ms. Park, today is the first day meaning that this will be his first warning. He is allowed to get his phone from you since it is the end of the day. I'm pretty sure you don't want any more problems under your belt from the administration." Seungmin said sternly.
The teacher got Huijun's phone and handed it to Seungmin. She waited for the boys to leave. She followed them to the door then locked it after they left.
"Well, may I know who you are? I'm No Seungmin. Huijun's hyung." Seungmin asked, looking at Minjae.
"I'm Song Minjae. I'm Huijun's classmate. I'm actually new to this school."
"Nice to meet you Minjae. We have to go. Thank you for defending my brother. I really appreciate it."
"No problem. I'll see you around Huijun." Minjae said.
Huijun waved him goodbye. With that, he and Seungmin made their way to Seongjun's car where Seongjun and Junhyuk waited for them.
