Chapter 22

"Hey, I'm here to get Huijun." Seungmin told Minjae's eomma as Minjae's father entered the house right behind him.

"Well Huijun is in the other room with Minjae. I'll take you to them."

Seungmin closed the door and followed her.

"Huijun, your hyung is here for you."

Minjae and Huijun both turned to the door to see Minjae's eomma standing with Seungmin.

"I'll talk to you later and if not, I'll see you at school tomorrow." Huijun whispered out to Minjae then left with Seungmin.

Once they were inside Seongjun's car, Huijun asked if there was anything that happened with Ms. Park at school.

"Yeah, I found out she threw a party once she noticed you and Minjae didn't show up today." Junhyuk recalled.

"Other than that though, nothing happened." Seongjun added on.

"Seongjun, you need to hide me." Dahyun blurted out as soon as she entered his room.

"What did you do Dahyun?" Seongjun asked unbothered.

"Please, not here. Drive me around and I'll explain."

Seongjun huffed and got up. Dahyun rushed to his car while he took his time. Once he was a few blocks away from their house, he pulled over at a park then shut off the engine.

"Now, tell me what happened." Seongjun calmly said.

Dahyun's face tensed as she thought of what she had done. Like if what she did physically hurt her. She took a deep breath, looked deep into Seongjun's eyes and started speaking.

"I think I agreed to be someone's hitman."

Seongjun's face grew white.

"What do you mean? Explain!" Seongjun shouted.

"Min-Ah told me to hunt down Do-Yeon and bring her his head. She said she'd do it herself but then she'd be charged with murder and she doesn't want the police looking through her stuff. I didn't know if she was joking or not until I started laughing. She looked me dead in the eyes and said to tell her where I'd hide his body. I freaked out, said yes then ran out."

"If so, then where is Do-Yeon now?" Seongjun asked.

"He's at Minjae's. I took him to Minjae's then left."

"Well does he know what she asked you to do? We need to make sure she doesn't get to him." Seongjun panicked.

"I had to think what I was going to do, that's why I took him there. So no, I didn't tell him."

"Really Dahyun?! We need to go there now."

Seongjun started up the car and headed to Minjae's house.

"Minjae, you should've told me you were having friends over, I would've cooked up something."

"Eomma please, not right now."

Once Seongjun brought Junhyuk, Seungmin and Huijun over, they all started talking.

"Now, is there anywhere we can hide him? I understand you're all still not happy with Do-Yeon but he still deserves to live." Seongjun announced.

"What if we do this..."

"So Dahyun, did you do it?"

"Before I say anything, how'd you do it?" Dahyun asked.

"Do what?" Ms. Park questioned cluelessly.

"Kill him. How'd you kill your son?"

"Kill him? Oh no, I simply put him to sleep. A deep and peaceful sleep. Nothing can hurt him now."

"So then, how'd you do it?"

"You really wanna know? Fine. He was being disobedient so I had to punish him. It was just a simple beating. He stopped breathing so I had his body hidden until I was ready to see my son swim one last time. I'm not a bad parent for wanting the best for him. He was just too weak to handle everything so now he's in a peaceful place. On the other hand, Huijun was the last thing that reminded me of him. Huijun reminds me of all the bad things my Ji-Tae has done and all sins should rot in hell. Now, did you get rid of Do-Yeon?"

"Meet me at the place we met. I think we should talk in person."

Dahyun looked over at Seongjun. He gave him a thumbs up and Dahyun hung up.
