"Did you make sure no one followed you?" Dahyun asked.
"Yes. I should be asking you the same question. Now where is he?" Ms. Park responded.
"Right, follow me." Dahyun started walking while Ms. Parked followed her into a tunnel.
"Why are we going through the tunnel?"
"I made sure to park on this side to not seem as suspicious as he's on the other side." Dahyun answered, turning on her flashlight.
"Smart girl."
As they were walking, Dahyun kept looking at Ms. Park to make sure she didn't run back the other way. Either way, she wouldn't get far.
(Flashback)
"What if we do this? We have Ms. Park confess to the murder. We give it to the police then have Dahyun think she has Do-Yeon to bring Ms. Park to a curtain area and have the police wait for them to arrest Ms. Park."
(End of flashback)
"He's right over there." Dahyun pointed and watched Ms. Park walk over to where she pointed.
Dahyun nodded and then, police ran over to Ms. Park.
"You really set me up? Well Dahyun, you just wait until I get you." Ms. Park threatened as she was arrested and being put in the police car.
"Hello class, so Ms. Park won't be here today. I wasn't informed on how long she'll be gone but until then, I'll be your substitute."
"Got any info on Ms. Park?" Minjae texted Seongjun during the lesson.
"They have her in a holding cell. They'll be transferring her in a few days. I heard they were reopening the case so they are keeping her behind bars until proven innocent." Seongjun typed back.
"Young man in the back. I'll need you off your phone."
A week went by and the police found a golf club buried in Ms. Park's backyard. It was bent in a way that matched bruises found on Ji-Tae's body. Ms. Park's fingerprints were all over the golf club. All they waited for was a sentencing date. As for Ji-Tae's body, they decided to hold a proper burial. With all that going on, it stressed Huijun. On top of that, he was still preparing for the open mic which was now two days away.
"Huijun, Seongjun is here." Seungmin said entering the room.
"I'll be down in a second." Huijun told Seungmin.
Seungmin obliged and went outside. Huijun sighed, grabbed a few things then went outside. Throughout the car ride, no one said anything. The atmosphere was already too thick that if someone said anything, someone was bound to cry. Once they got to the destination, they all got out and walked together as a group of five. Standing by Ji-Tae's headstone, the boys put down their flowers. All except Huijun backed up a bit. Huijun took out a note, opened it up then started reading it.
"Ji-Tae, you were always my brother. I know I'll never get to see you or talk to you one last time but here I am reading this in hopes of releasing you. I felt as if not having you with me on this earth anymore would be the end of me. I know you never liked me saying that so here I am taking your advice. Sometimes it feels like I'm betraying you in a way but knowing you, you'd not want me to mope around. I sacrificed my voice for you and it's now time to lay you to rest. You'll forever be with me. Thank you for everything." By the end of Huijun's speech, he was choking up.
He smiled with tears leaving his eyes. He grabbed a candle and lit it. He placed it next to Ji-Tae's headstone and burned the speech he wrote. He looked at all the ashes falling then blew out the candle.
