Chapter 8

"Thank you but I must go now." Minjae explained.

"Well Minjae, your welcome here anytime."

Minjae waved goodbye then was out the door. Shortly after, Seongjun and Junhyuk were leaving.

Minjae and Huijun were texting well into the night just learning new things about each other. Neither getting bored of the conversation. It wasn't until Minjae's alarm went off that he realized he got no sleep. Seungmin got up and was going to wake up Huijun but to his surprise, he was already up.

"Did you really stay up all night Huijun?"

Huijun turned to Seungmin in a barely lit room but it still made Huijun squint. He nodded as Seungmin groaned.

"Alright, go get ready. You can take a nap in Seongjun's car." Seungmin negotiated.

Huijun told Minjae he was going to get ready for school then got up and headed to the bathroom for a shower.

"You know Huijun is asleep right?" Junhyuk questioned.

"Yeah, I told him to sleep in here."

"Why?" Seongjun asked, confused.

"Well he stayed up all night texting someone." Seungmin said, rolling his eyes.

Huijun got to class early like usual. He sat down, put his head down and took a nap.

Minjae on the other hand was running late. By the time he got to class, everyone was already in their seats. Minjae started walking to his seat. He was a little drowsy so he blinked. The same student as always saw Minjae wobble a little. He decided to punch Minjae in the guts. Minjae hit the ground with a thud causing Huijun to wake up.

Instead of doing anything back to the kid, Minjae got up and made his way to his desk. He was out of breath and holding his guts. Ms. Park continued her lesson as if nothing happened. The students waited for Minjae to sit down. Once he did, they turned to face the board. Huijun gave a sympathetic smile to which Minjae returned back to him. Minjae looked around then just thought, now that he stood up for Huijun and is his friend, he'll start getting attacked too.

A loud bang near Huijun and Minjae's ear caused them to wake up.

"No sleeping in class, that's what home is for. Now, finish your work."

"Minjae, do you want to go to the amusement park tomorrow afterschool?" Seungmin asked, waiting for Huijun to get out of the bathroom.

"Sure, who's all going?"

"Oh you know, just the group. Seongjun, Junhyuk, me and Huijun."

"Yeah. I can go to my uncle's to meet up." Minjae said.

Huijun got out and looked at the both of them but just shrugged.

"Huijun, we're going to an amusement park tomorrow so please get some rest. The both of you." Seungmin said, looking at both Huijun and Minjae.

"When did we decide on this?" Junhyuk asked.

"And aren't you afraid of rollercoasters?" Seongjun questioned Seungmin.

Huijun was asleep again while they were having this conversation.

"I'm terrified but I figured that Minjae would be coming along, Huijun won't want to stay home." Seungmin explained.

"Okay. It's smart. Where are we picking up Minjae?" Seongjun asked, pulling up at Huijun and Seungmin's house.

"He said he'll meet us here. He'll be right next door."

"Seungmin?! Why is Huijun all scratched up? Is that why he didn't come out of the room yesterday?"

"Yes eomma. Huijun fell and didn't want to worry you." Seungmin defended.

"Is this true Huijun?"

Huijun nodded his head. For the most part, that was true.

Minjae went to the bathroom, lifted his shirt and discovered that his abdomen is now freshly bruised.

Huijun and Minjae checked up on each other. Minjae told Huijun about his bruises and Huijun said his eomma saw his face. Both boys agreed to explain to the other boys what is going on in class when they all hang out after school the next day.
