Chapter 21

"Does the police know this?" Seungmin asked.

"I planned to but my father sent me to camp before the police started asking questions. By the time I came back, the police were already giving up on the case."

"If Ms. Park did it, then why did she want the police to reopen the case?" Junhyuk wondered.

"From what I know, she wanted to frame Huijun from the beginning while having Ji-Tae in a better place. She's always saying how he's safe now." Do-Yeon explained.

"Is there anything you know about that we can use to both lurer her and catch her doing something that points her to the crime?"

"So, your mute friend is talking again."

"Yes eomma, he's been doing voice warm ups in order to start talking again. Now, I'll be in my room." Minjae replied, closing the front door and heading back to his room.

"Huijun, wake up! Today is your checkup day!"

Huijun got up and looked over at Seungmin who was getting ready for school.

"I guess I forgot to remind you, sorry." Seungmin smiled then left the room.

"Huijun not coming today?" Seongjun asked as Seungmin got in the car.

"No, today is his checkup. My eomma was going to drop him off at school after the checkup but I convinced her to let him stay home. I figured a full day away from Ms. Park would be good."

"What about Minjae? We shouldn't send him to class without Huijun." Junhyuk mentioned.

"Got that covered. I texted Minjae about Huijun's checkup and apparently, his checkup is also today. He asked his parents if he could stay home afterwards and knowing them, of course they said yes. Huijun will be at Minjae's since today is Minjae's eomma's day off and agreed to let Huijun stay over until I get him." Seungmin explained.

"Thank you so much for taking in Huijun for the day."

"Oh, no problem. Have a good day."

Huijun's eomma smiled, waved Huijun goodbye and walked away. Minjae's eomma closed the door then turned to the boys.

"Are you boys hungry? I'll go make some food."

With that, she walked to the kitchen in a great mood. Huijun laughed and Minjae blushed, he was still trying to get used to how his eomma acted.

"I see Huijun and Minjae didn't show up. So class, I'll order us something for lunch to celebrate. Now, I need to take this call outside. No messing around please." Ms. Park said.

She walked into the halls, looked around then dialed a number.

"Hello?"

"Dahyun, hey. Where are Minjae and Huijun?"

"At their monthly checkup. Why, what's wrong Min-Ah?"

"Nothing, I was just making sure you were seeing where they were since useless Do-Yeon is in class."

"Yeah well they're getting out now so I'll have to call you back."

"Good girl, I knew I could count on you."

Dahyun hung up and immediately cursed under her breath. She wasn't following the boys because they told her what they were going to be doing the whole day. She was just upset that the person she had considered a friend would be so cruel.
