"Have you asked her out yet?" Jeff lay on your bed, his head hanging off the edge. His hair was almost brushing the floor beside you, as you sat cross legged with your back against the bed.

"No," You scoffed.

"You have to, dude!" Jeff rolled over to lie on his stomach. "You're basically in love with her!"

"I am not in love with her!" You protested, rolling your eyes.

"The way you look at her says otherwise,"

You gasped. "Am I really that obvious?!" You asked worriedly.

"Probably just to me," Jeff shrugged. "I know you better than anyone else,"

"That's true," You exhaled.

"And as your closest friend, I'm telling you that you should ask her out,"

"Okay, you're one of her closest friends," You gave in. "Where would she want to go?"

"Hm," He thought for a while. "Somewhere fun or lively,"

"Fun and lively? Like what?" You raised an eyebrow.

"I don't know," Jeff shrugged. "Like a carnival,"

You stopped for a second. "That's a good idea. There's a winter carnival happening downtown,"

"I'm just the best, aren't I?" Jeff smiled.

"Shut up," You rolled your eyes

"So you gonna ask her out or not?" Jeff groaned.

"What if she says no?" You frowned.

"She won't,"

"But what if she does?"

"Pose it as if it's not a date if you're that worried. She's kind, she wouldn't turn down a simple hangout,"

"That could work," You smiled softly.

You walked into rehearsals the next day. This show, Trail to Oregon, was one of the best shows you were apart of. You especially enjoyed the tight-knit cast, since it was such a small cast. The music that Jeff wrote was incredible, and everything about it was amazing. When Jeff asked you to be apart of it last year, there was no way you were turning it down. Okay sure, maybe it was partially because Jeff mentioned Rachael was going to be apart of it, but it was also because you got to work with Jeff, and be in a musical about such a classic game.

"Hey all!" You smiled as you put down your bag. You scanned the room. Basically everyone was here.

"Hey Y/N," Rachael smiled at you. You felt your stomach flutter with worry. It did the same thing when your eyes passed Jeff, who eyed you like a hawk. You quickly took off your jacket, before approaching Jeff.

"Stop being obvious," You whisper screamed at him.

"Me? Obvious? Never,"

"You keep looking at me,"

"And what does that give away?" He laughed. "Stop worrying!" He swung an arm around you.

"Easier said than done," You muttered.

"She'll say yes!" Jeff exclaimed. "You have nothing to worry about,"

You just nodded, and went to go talk to Lauren and Joey.

Throughout the entire rehearsal, you couldn't stop thinking about the conversation you were going to have at the end of it. You couldn't help but sneak glances at Rachael every now and again. She was in a good mood, which made you feel better.
