You took a shaky breath, before checking the time on your phone. 9:53am. You still had another 7 minutes until you had to be at rehearsals. You contemplated waiting- you were so nervous.
But you opened the door swiftly. Can't go back now. You walked in to be greeted by Nick.
"Ah Y/N! I'm so glad you made it!" He hugged you. "Come through. Not everyone's here yet. Almost the entire cast is infamous for being late," He told you, leading you into another room. There sat another 4 people. Three guys, one girl.
"This is my brother Matt, you may recognise him from auditions," He pointed to one of the guys who was writing things down. He looked up and gave you a small wave.
"That's Joey Richter, he's playing Ted," He pointed to a man who was walking around, who you assumed was running lines with the girl."That's Lauren Lopez, she's playing Emma," He pointed at the girl.
"And that's Robert Manion, playing Professor Hidgens," He pointed to a tall man who was flipping through the script.
"Hopefully everyone should be here soon! Try to make yourself familiar, we'll get started soon," he smiled. "Hey Robert? This is Y/N. Make them feel comfortable?"
"Of course Nick, no problem," He said walking over. If you weren't nervous before, you were definitely nervous now. As much as this was a really cool experience, meeting new people gave you terrible anxiety.
"Hi, I'm Robert," He stuck out his hand.
"Y/N," You responded."So you're the newbie," he grinned. He had an accent, but you couldn't figure out what it was.
"I'm the only new person in the cast? You all know each other?" You suddenly felt your mouth go dry. You were definitely going to be the outcast.
"No! I mean, yes. Most of us know each other, but you'll definitely fit right in. We have one other new person coming in. I think his name is Jonathan. I haven't met him yet, but he was on a livestream that happened a few weeks ago. He's friends with Jeff. You'll get to know everyone soon," Robert explained.
"Ok," You said simply.
"Wait so who are you playing?" He asked, quirking an eyebrow. "I read it somewhere, but I have an awful memory,"
"Alice, and some other characters,"
"Ah yes, that's right I do remember that now," He clicked his fingers.
You fiddled with the hem of your shirt, as you looked down, trying to breathe steadily. He put a hand on your back.
"You're nervous aren't you," He asked softly.
"Just a bit," You smiled.
"I can see right through you," He chuckled lightly. Your chest started to feel tight.
"I'm sorry," You apologised, flustered.
"Don't be sorry! It's ok to be nervous! Don't worry, I was just as nervous as you, if not more,"
"That's impossible,"
"Not impossible. I was a big fan of Starkid when I first started with this crew. I won some of their competitions, and became good friends with some of them, so they asked me to be apart of their show Twisted. I tell you I was shitting myself. I had the worst panic attack the night before. I was so stressed. But it was so fun once we started rehearsing. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. I'm certain everyone here is going to be like that too," He faced you, forcing you to look at him.
"Thank you," You smiled weakly.
"Oh, that's the other new guy now," He pointed at the door. He looked just as nervous as you.
