At sea

Chris P.O.V

I'm Chris Frohn, and I'm 14 years old. When my cruise ship sank, I didn't expect to survive by hanging on to a piece of wood. I also didn't expect to be picked up by a family who lived on the sea.

By the time I was huddled onto their ship, my clothes were soaked through and I was pretty sure I had hypothermia. The woman who had dived in and brought me up introduced herself as Reyna Ramirez-Arellano. She had a thick Spanish accent. The punk goth woman beside her was Thalia, her wife. She had a bow and arrows strapped to her back. Beside Reyna was 2 kids who were almost carbon copies of their parents. Zoe looked like Thalia but her black hair was in a braid, while her twin sister Kinzie looked like Reyna but her skin was pale and she had a splash of freckles on her face. I thought she looked very cute and said so to her. I didn't notice that there was an older boy behind me. After he slapped me, he introduced himself as their older brother Jayz. He had dark skin, black hair, and heterochromia lightning blue and fierce brown eyes. He had inherited his mom's accent, although it was less thick. He picked me up roughly and carried me to a cabin, threw a pair of clothes at me and told me the shower's were across the hall before running up to man the helm against the still-raging storm.

"Why did your brother slap me?" I asked Kinzie. I had spent several days on their ship and they were taking me to the nearest port, which currently was New York. She smirked, her slightly curly hair in a ponytail. "Me and my sister are both Lesbians, my brother's gay and both my moms are Bi. Jayz hits anyone who hits on us or mocks us" I felt shocked, and deciding I didn't want to be on a ship where the entire crew was made up of LGBTQ+ people, jumped over. The last thing I felt or saw was black.
