jieun wanted to believe juyeon, but at the same time she was convincing herself that he was selfish. he could have done the same for their daughter that she was doing right now. to the public, acting like she doesn't exist, and if she was ever caught with her, pretending like she was her niece. juyeon could have done this, he still could have managed to have a child and possibly even a wife...if they lasted that long, whilst having a career in the spotlight.

however juyeon didn't like to keep secrets from his best friends, so he and jieun agreed to tell them at some point as long as they kept it secret from creker, which juyeon knew they would.

but right now what jieun needed was a break from juyeon. it was slightly overwhelming seeing him after such a long time. plus, she had to get eunae home from school somehow. jieun's parents lived in her home town of gwangju, but her sister hana lived in seoul for work too, so she thought asking her to pick her up and take her to school would be a good idea when her sister wasn't at work.

but right now she needed to see her daughter, and talk to her about juyeon. she wasn't sure how she was going to bring it up to her. how exactly was she supposed to tell her daughter that she had a father she didn't know even existed? but she had to do it today because juyeon was adamant that he was going to meet her tomorrow.

"eunae, you know how i always tell you that it's just going to be me and you, forever?" jieun began, kneeling down in front of her daughter as she was sat on the bottom step of their stairs.

"yes, mommy. it's just us," she said, nodding. eunae secretly always wanted her dad, or at least to know where he was, what he was doing...why he wasn't a part of her life. she had so many questions for him.

"well, what if i told you that you actually do have a dad? and he wants to meet you?"

eunae's facial expression went through a rollercoaster of emotions in just a few seconds. confusion, as having a dad was a completely new concept for her. happiness, she'd finally be getting the father she'd dreamed of for so long. sadness, what if he didn't like her? what if he wasn't what she had dreamed him to be like?

but another hard part for jieun was telling her daughter that they had to keep their identities secret. eunae couldn't tell her teachers who her parents were, her friends. jieun had convinced her that they were playing a 'game' of pretending to not be related to one another, but she knew one day it would fall apart. it was just a matter of when.

both jieun and juyeon felt bad for lying to their daughter, their company, the public. but it was the only way to get what they wanted, what they needed.
because if creker found out that they had a child, if they were in a past relationship, they would be in deep deep shit.
