the only thing on juyeon and jieun's mind was haknyeon. above everything else. what he saw, if he told anybody, anybody at all, everything could change.
"mom, dad? are you ok?" eunae asked, after sitting in silence for nearly ten minutes. it was a wednesday evening, and the two of her parents both had a free schedule, so the three of them were having dinner together on jieun's small table in the corner of the kitchen.
"yes, baby. don't worry about it," jieun said, touching eunae's ear lovingly then ruffling her hair a little. afterwards she looked across to juyeon who was staring at the two of them in awe.
"what?" jieun said, chuckling.
"nothing..." juyeon said quietly. "i just love you, that's all. i love both my girls,"
"i love you too, juyeon-ah," jieun said, with a smile beginning to creep up on her face.
"kiss! kiss! kiss!" eunae started chanting quietly from the opposite side of the table. juyeon and jieun looked to each other and burst out laughing, before jieun leaned over and pecked him on his cheek, making eunae pout as she was eager to see her parents kiss.
"it's nearly bedtime, babygirl. get ready, ok? we'll come to read to you in a moment," juyeon said, eunae still pouting. as eunae still wasn't moving juyeon picked her up and tickled her until she screamed in giggles whilst jieun put the plates away trying to stifle her laugh but failing. they really were the most adorable father daughter duo ever.
"now come on, go get dressed," he said, putting her down. she immediately flopped onto the floor like a fish and juyeon laughed at the sight and picked her up to take her to her bedroom. she was probably tired from school.
"please, haknyeon. don't say anthing..." jieun whispered, walking to the bookshelf in the study to find a book in japanese for eunae. after all, it was her first language rather than korean, even though jieun spoke it to her growing up and she learnt both languages.
juyeon was already so in love with jieun, but hearing her speak in japanese made him in awe of her. it made her even more attractive, even though he never thought that was possible.
"is she asleep?" juyeon whispered, noticing her eyes were closed and she wasn't asking any more questions like she usually did, given her incredible curiosity that she got from both her parents.
"oh yes," jieun said, smiling at her adorable daughter. "oyasumi, sweetheart.." she said, kissing her forehead.
"goodnight eunae," juyeon said, kissing her cheek and following jieun out of the bedroom as he turned off the light on the way out.
"jieun?" juyeon spoke, grabbing her attention as she turned to face him. "can i sleep over?"
"sure," jieun said, sighing. "but if anyone sees you coming out of this building in the morning, it's your fault,"
juyeon nodded and grabbed her hand, walking to the bedroom with her. "i'll be gone before sunrise," he said. even if it meant doing an all nighter, getting up at the devil's hour...if it meant no rumours would come out, he was willing to do anything it took to avoid any scandals.
