juyeon didn't even know what his relationship was with jieun at this point. but he knew where he lied with eunae. today he was spending as much of the day as he could at jieun and eunae's house. as much as he wanted to take her out to the park, or somewhere exciting, he just wasn't ready for that kind of danger to be put on the two of them. almost every day he was at jieun's house, and today was no exception.

"where was eunae born, jieun?" juyeon said, looking up to her on the sofa from sitting on the floor with his legs crossed whilst eunae coloured in.

jieun was about to answer, but before she could, eunae did.

"i was born in nara, daddy,"

"nara? japan? is that where you've been all this time?" juyeon said, with raised eyebrows. eunae nodded innocently before she smiled and juyeon did too, ruffling her hair with his hand. jieun couldn't help but stare in awe of the two. they had the same smile, and the way juyeon refused to let her down was something that she couldn't resist about him.

"what?" juyeon said, noticing jieun's smile creeping up on her face.

"nothing..." jieun said, diverting her gaze back to the television.

"i moved around to begin with," jieun said, breaking the quietness that followed. "my parents weren't accepting of me getting pregnant...they didn't kick me out, but they didn't help me financially or offer to to support me emotionally or educate me on raising a child. so as soon as i turned 18 i left and came to japan, gave birth to eunae and did a degree there. then we moved around a little, doing a few jobs here and there because i struggled to find a job that could support us both. we lived in nara for a while, then tokyo, kyoto, sapporo, osaka..." jieun said.

juyeon tried to hold back his emotions for how much hardship he put jieun and eunae through. but he didn't want to show it in front of eunae, he didn't want her to worry about anything, she was a child.

"sapporo? have you seen snow, eunae?"

"yeah!! it's so pretty! we used to build snow boys all the time!"

"snow boys?" juyeon asked, quizzically.

"yeah, you know?"

juyeon nodded and smiled, ruffling her hair once again. "whatever you say, sweetie. let's build a snowboy one day,"

eunae smiled and pushed her colours to the side, throwing herself into juyeon's arms, nearly taking him out in the process. his arms wrapped around her tightly as hers wrapped around his neck.

"i love you, daddy,"

jieun was of course, no longer watching the film on tv anymore. all she could do was watch the father daughter duo be cuties, and uwu at the two of them.

"okay, eunae. i need you to go put your colours away, can you do that for me?" juyeon said, eunae nodding and picking up her book and pencils after juyeon kissed her on the cheek.

"it's beautiful , isn't it?" jieun said, juyeon knowing exactly what she was talking about. being told that his daughter loved him for the first time ever was an experience he'd never be able to forget. he already felt like he'd achieved everything in life just by hearing those words, he really was the happiest man alive.

"jieun, what was the birth like?" juyeon asked.

"that's a bit of a random question," jieun said, laughing slightly.

"well, i mean, was it hard? who was there with you?"

"hana flew out weeks in advance, she was there with me for the whole thing. my parents haven't even met eunae properly yet, just through face time. it was hard, i'll be honest. but i love her, and i'd do anything for her,"

"i'm sorry i couldn't be there," juyeon said, sighing in sadness. he took her hand and intertwined it with his own. "i'll never leave you again, jieun,"

"that's a big statement, juyeon. you better stick to that," jieun said.

"i promise, darling. i will," juyeon said. jieun was slightly taken back by the pet name, and juyeon noticed it too.

"we haven't actually officially discussed it...but, we're dating, right?" juyeon said.

jieun nodded slowly. "yeah, i guess. i would have thought you'd pick up on that after the other day. you know...in the recording room,"

juyeon nodded, blushing slightly. "yeah...of course. sure,"

"awww is my baby juyeon flustered?" jieun said, pinching his cheeks.

"what? no! i was just...confirming,"
