Alice lit up the candles, she had on her balcony and switched on the fairy-lights. The air outside was fairly cold so she decided to go inside again and get blankets. When she handed Jaden his blanket, he looked a bit surprised.
"Are you cold?"
"Not yet."
To be honest, he was a little touched that she worried about him.
They were listening to NF on a little speaker for a while, looking over the city.

Alice?"
"Yeah?"
"Have you ever been in a relationship?"
"Yeah once."
"How long?"
"Nearly two years."
Jaden looked at the smaller girl in awe.
"That's a long time, and you're still so young."
"Well I am twenty-one and it was when I was seventeen to my nineteenth birthday."
"Wait you guys split on your Birthday? That's a shitty present."
"It was one of the best things that ever happened to me. After being adopted, of course."
"Oh shit. That much of an asshole?"
Allie stood up and went inside but came back a few moments later with a bottle of wine in her one hand and two glasses in the other.
"Do you want some?"
"Well, technically I am only nineteen."
"You're allowed to drink wine the moment you turn sixteen in Germany. Aside from that, you were high today. You had four blunts!"
"I know I was joking! It was only three, by the way."
"Really? I thought you guys had said four."
"We did, but Bryce is just stupid and I was high a- I didn't even answer you."
Alice had already poured wine in his glass.
"Yeah, well. If you don't want it, I will."
"Your sacrifice is noticed."
Laughing he gripped the wineglass and toasted to her.
"Okay back to the topic. Yeah, he was that much of an asshole."
The boy didn't want to make him uncomfortable but you could see the question on his face.
"He was manipulative. I don't know if you could describe the relationship as toxic. He made me depend on him. When we were longer than two days apart from each other, I didn't know what to do. I was crying and unstable."
Alice took a few more sips of her wine, looking over the beautiful city at night.
"Well he told me that only he was able to love me and all of that stuff, he was just mean. But he was so nice, you know? He ordered for me, because I couldn't, my anxiety wouldn't let me. It wasn't always what I wanted but he did it."
"It sounds like he owned you. Did you live together?
The girl hesitated for a few seconds, drinking more wine.
"It felt like it if I think about it. We lived in a big apartment near my parents. Everything was big, empty, cold. Nothing had personality."
"This apartment is different then? You have so many nice things, it's small, very cute."
