Layla's pov

I was about to head home when our home room teacher called out to me. He handed me a bunch of sheets that were the field trip forms that already were signed by students and told me to take them to the classroom and list everyone who was going in our grade and wanted me to find Cameron so he'd help. I sighed before looking at the man in his mid 40s "sir, why do I need to find him. I'm sorry but he's extremely annoying. And if you haven't realized yet we don't exactly get along." I whined and he chuckled before replying "annoying or not, even though you got here 4 days ago, you guys bicker so much and are like Tom and jerry. I still haven't seen a time when you guys aren't together." I looked at him with a shocked disgusted expression, he's kidding right? But now that he mentioned it, it's been 5 days since I've met Cameron and my days were filled of him teasing, tripping or hitting me like some elementary kid. He's extremely annoying and steals my food, we yell at each other at every student council meeting and we never get along. But Mr. Smiths right, we really have been together everytime. But that's only because of student council and the upcoming field trip, otherwise I'd spend time with the girls.

I sighed and groaned before heading off to find him like an obedient student. He laughed at my groan and headed into the teachers office while I went off to the classroom first.

I dropped off the pile of paperwork and looked around, his bag was still here which meant he hadn't gone home yet. The only issue was in this gigantic school he could be anywhere. I paced around for a few minutes and tried to think of where he could be. I remembered that he did a lot of sports so I tried all the clubs first.

But before that, calling him would be logical. I took out my phone from my cardigan pocket and clicked on the contact named "dumbass boxer" the phone rang and rang until I was met with voicemail. Which didn't surprise me since he never seems to answer his phone. I sighed and decided to head to the first place on my list.

First on the list was basketball. I opened the doors of the basketball gym as the boys' attention all turned to me. I smiled politely and walked up to them "hey have you guys seen Cameron?"

"Cameron's an idiot, why don't you spend time with me instead Layla?" A boy with a cheeky smile and sweat dripping down his forehead said. His hair was a dirty blonde color and his brown eyes were that of a mischievous expression. I didn't know who he was but I knew that these guys were seniors-which meant they were the same grade as I am. Girls and guys were both screaming and cheering on the bleachers for tons of guys playing basketball. And that's when I realized people have a ton of time on their hands to watch a practice. A guy with brown hair then slapped his head as he whined before rubbing the back of his head "stop being an idiot Jake." This boy had blue eyes and smiled politely before saying "sorry about Jake he's an idiot but he's harmless. I'm Justin. It's nice to meet the talk of the school, you're the one who slapped cam across the face, Layla, aren't you?"

I laughed awkwardly before he grinned "you're looking for him right?" I nodded and he continued "he was here around 30 minutes ago, he played a bit before saying he was going to the soccer club." I smiled happily and thanked him before running out while they resumed their game. I headed to the soccer field where there was an intense looking practice going on. Here too, there were girls screaming and cheering for the guys, some were holding water bottles and towels for the guys and I just smiled. That's true dedication I guess. A ball then suddenly came flying in the direction of my face and I quickly grabbed it and glared at the person who threw the ball. "Holy crap, I'm sorry Layla. Are you okay?" At this point the fact that they knew my name didn't surprise me anymore.
