Layla's pov
"Swollen faced rat my ass." I muttered, I'm going to kill that piece of shit. He's the one who looks like a swollen faced rat. But regardless he did help me out back there. But he also saw me cry. He smelt like the warm cologne scent I smelt yesterday and It'd be a lie if I didn't say that it made me feel calmer.
I went to the washroom, washed my face, and fixed myself to look presentable as I thought of things I could do to waste time during the hour and 15 minutes we had of class that I wasn't going to. I headed out of the washroom to see Cameron standing outside on his phone. He looked up and grinned "I haven't skipped in a while so let's do something fun."
It took me a few seconds before I realized this idiot was going to skip class with me. And oddly enough, I didn't reject the idea of it. I felt like taking my mind off things.
"Let's go to the arcade." I smiled softly "arcade it is." He replied returning the smile.
We left and headed into an area downtown where it was crowded with all sorts of people but there were a lot of high school kids skipping and still in their uniforms-just as we were.
We were probably the worst role models if we were both skipping and are President and Vice President of our senior grade.
We bought tokens and started to play. The first one was a zombie killing game in which I beat him but then he beat me when we played the shoot-the-target-and-get-a-plushie-game.
"Okay whoever takes down the most ducks in this water game, doesn't have to pay when we get food. What'd you say wanna bet?" He proposed competitively with a smile and I replied just as enthusiastic about the idea.
"You're on." I said happily. It was timed and whoever shot down the most ducks with the water gun in one minute won.
I ended up winning obviously (by a couple points) and whether it was because he let me win on purpose or not I didn't care.
We went to the cafe and ordered one chocolate and one matcha parfait. They were a bit big so Cameron looked shocked. "Can we finish these?" He asked and I laughed "you will once you taste how good it is, here." I extended the spoon after scooping some of the chocolate and he reached over and ate some before smiling in bliss "this is so good!" I gave him the spoon and gave him a bite from it before I started to eat some myself "I'm so happy this place exists." I said happily and he smiled.
"what do you wanna do after this?" He asked me and I thought for a few seconds before replying "I mean we still have 45 minutes. Is there anything in mind that you'd like to do?" He shook his head and I then shrugged it off "we'll find something."
We ended up finishing both parfaits and left 5 minutes after we had that conversation. We walked around the popular area as a lot of people gave us looks. Girls were swooning over Cameron and I got the normal "her eyes. Look at them."
But we ignored them and meaninglessly chatted until a lady in fancy professional clothing stopped us.
"Hi cam." She said in a happy tone and he sighed as she gave him a kiss on the cheek as a greeting. "I haven't changed my mind Tiffany." He said sounding uninterested and like he's repated the same thing several times prior.
"Aw, but look at how much attention you're getting. This would be perfect for seventeen magazine." She then glanced at me and looked me up and down before clasping her hands together in glee. She then grabbed my hands in hers and awed. "You're beautiful. I'm Tiffany and you are?"
"Layla." I said simply before looking at Cameron who just mouthed an apology. I looked back at the blonde hair, blue eyed lady who wore small glasses and a silk ruby red blazer and matching pants. She seemed extremely confident and you could tell she worked in the fashion industry.
