Layla's pov
As Mr. smith concluded what today's activities were, the girl known as Olivia confidently walked over and said hello to all of us before looking at umbra and Orla with a scared expression.

I noticed her fear and told umbra and Orla to go to the forest. "I'll follow you two in a bit. Okay?" I pet both of their heads as they ran off like obedient dogs.

She let out a sigh in relief and I apologized for scaring her. "I know they may look a bit scary but they're really sweet." I said and she nodded, "I'm sorry. I'm not really an animal person. They all scare me truthfully." I giggled at her cuteness and patted her head "that's okay. No ones forcing you to touch them."

Her cheeks turned into a pink color because of her shy nature and I smiled.

She then turned to Cameron and mustered up the courage to ask "c-can I join your group Cameron?"

He smiled kindly and nodded "sure if it's okay with this one." He pointed at me and I agreed "we'd love to have you in our group, I'll tell umbra and Orla to not go near you. They're very obedient so don't worry."

She smiled and shyly thanked me.

"It's no trouble." I replied before continuing "you're the one that we ran into while I was chasing this monkey and we helped pick your stuff up right?" I asked and she nodded timidly "yeah, I didn't think you guys would remember."

"I remember because I thought you were really pretty." I said honestly and she blushed "thank you. No ones ever-" she spoke and I smiled widely. This girl was cute, although I felt a bit jealous that Cameron kissed her and called her cute.

"Oh! I remember now, you're the one in the hallway!" He said finally remembering and I hit the back of his head for being an idiot and he groaned in pain. "Ow, What was that for you damn rat." He said glaring and I stuck out my tongue at him and he quickly tried to reach for it. I tucked it back in my mouth and looked at him with a gasp. "You really would try to grab my tongue?! You weirdo." He nodded casually and I shook my head at his stupidity before turning back to Olivia "forget this one, he's too dumb for his own good."

She giggled lightly and Cameron complained "Olivia don't go laughing at her insults."
She continued to laugh softly and I smiled lightly. "I'm going to go to my children. Cameron take care of Olivia. This trail is dangerous and very messy. So Olivia make sure to watch your step so you don't get hurt. I tripped yesterday, I wouldn't want that to happen to you." I said politely before going to the wolves who jumped up and down with enthusiasm. I laughed and we headed down the trail to look for a certain rare tree. It's supposedly near some stream. Nana stood close to me and whispered in my ear "those two are a bit close don't you think?" We glanced a sneak peek behind us and saw Cameron and Olivia getting along.

I felt horrible and like my chest was tightening. I managed to place a smile on my face and I replied "that's good isn't it, maybe she can help him forget about Layla."

What was I saying? Did I want that?

"I don't think it's possible for him to forget Ms. Taylor." Replied nana before she maintained eye contact with me as if knowing how I really felt before turning her head and looking at something else.

Was it that obvious?

I didn't question it though and instead I turned to umbra "I need you two to find water."

As soon as they heard water, they started to run deep through the snow covered forest.

As we got deeper and deeper in the pretty scary forest, we managed to find the stream. And across the stream was none other than the tree we needed to find. I smiled and gave each of them a treat.
They gladly ate the treat and I smiled lovingly.
