Walking was harder than expected. Even with the supportive bandage the doctor had put around your torso, it hurt like a real bastard. So, most of the walking was done with a hand wrapped around yourself and breathing sharply through your teeth, making you get some concerned glances from Leon.
The two of you were walking side by side in an awkward silence, neither really knowing what to say.
You had just set out to find the thieves; going to the place you saw them last and asking around. Eventually, someone was able to point the two of you in a direction and that is where you were headed now.
"Why are you helping me?" Your voice cut through the tension and Leon glanced at you before focusing on the road again.
"I feel like it is my fault this happened. If they really were my fans, then you wouldn't have been hurt - had I not been around."
You were silent for a moment, pondering what he said before a thought came up, making you snicker softly. "I wouldn't necessarily call them fans; more like stalkers."
"Stalkers?"
You hummed, trying to keep a straight and serious face. "Yea they said they knew you. And since I highly doubt you are actually friends with them, that leaves the only other option that they stalk you and know more about you than you'd like."
"Really? That is the only other option?" Leon had a confident smirk on his face, clearly not too worried about possibly being stalked.
"Ehh, maybe it isn't but my brain isn't in the best working order right now if you hadn't noticed yet." You replied, waving your hand up and down in the air to dismiss him.
Leon laughed and you couldn't help but smile when hearing the contagious sound.
The both of you continued walking in silence again, this time more comfortable.

Turns out, finding your way to a city you have never been to - with a man who is worse with directions than a Magikarp is at attacking - is quite hard.
Luckily for you, your Pokétch had a map of the region so, with the help of that, it only took getting lost a few times to find your way to Motostoke.

You and Leon stood in front of the walls of the city.
"Well, that was an adventure." Leon smiled at you and you couldn't help but laugh at him.
"Yeah, that is one way to describe it." You said through laughter before the reality of what led you here, crashed your improving mood.
Leon noticed and let out a heavy breath. He really had liked seeing you lighten up again. "So, what do these thieves look like?" Might as well get to the point. The sooner you found your Pokémon, the sooner you'd cheer up again.
You thought for a second, your hand on your chin as you did so. "One was lanky with blonde hair in a high ponytail. I believe she was the trainer of the Vaporeon. The other girl was quite short and had a short bob cut. Uh- brown hair." You described the girls to the best of your ability. "I just want to find them and get my Pokémon back, that is it." You sighed and looked up at the stone walls of Motostoke.
"We'll find them." Leon assures you. "Besides, having the Champion of Galar with you must count for something, right?"
You raised an eyebrow at him but felt a smile tugging at your lips while he smirked. "Let's go then Champ." You hit the back of your hand on his chest and started walking into Motostoke, Leon following a second later.
Walking into the city, it was completely different from Hulbury or any city or town in Sinnoh. The giant red-bricked buildings loomed over you as you walked through the streets.
People looked up and stared when they saw Leon, excitement sparkling in their eyes. To your horror however, they were also staring at you, a hint of recognition their eyes as they saw you. "Oh great." You muttered, slumping your shoulders.
"What was that?"
"They recognise me because of that newscast that said you rescued me." You sighed while widely gesturing around you to people walking by.
Leon looked up to see a couple look at the two of you before turning back to you. "Technically I did rescue you."
You slapped him on his arm to get that grin off his face while trying very hard to keep your own contained. "How about you just go ask around if anyone has seen them while I search?"
Leon shook his head however. "The Doctor was very specific that I had to accompany you."
You grumbled and stared ahead of you as he said that, cursing the doctor silently. "Alright, I'll search around in your line of sight while you ask around, how does that sound?" Leon placed his hand on your shoulder and smiled.
"Sounds like a plan!"

You had been searching around for quite a while, looking for those two girls. No matter how much ground you covered, you couldn't find them. Leon had been asking around but every time he spoke to someone, he started to chat with them, slowing the search a lot.
You just finished looking around a small shopping area beneath the giant lift. Leon was on top asking around while you had gone down to search but it was all pretty useless. So, with a heavy heart, you decided to give up for today. The sun was starting to set and your ribs and head hurt like hell.
You didn't have a wallet however. That was going to be a problem if you needed to rent a room to stay. Were you going to have to ask Leon? That's undignifying.
Dragging your feet to the lift, you stepped on and the machine flipped up, bringing you to the top part of the city.
As you raised your head, you immediately saw Leon standing to your left. He had his arms crossed over his chest and held a stern look on his face while leaning on the railing. The moment you moved your gaze to see who he was looking at however, your insides churned.
"You! You stole my Pokemon!"
