Both of you sat in the train to Wedgehurst. It had departed from the station about ten minutes ago and you were seated opposite to each other, both by the window.

As you looked outside, the Galar region sped by, not even giving you the chance to look at one spot for more than a second. Train rides always had this calming effect, feeling as if you could spend an eternity just looking at the scenery blow by.

A sudden weight on your lap brought you out of your trance and you yelped in fright. On your lap was a tiny yellow and brown Pokémon. The moment it saw you noticed him, it started yapping excitedly. Standing on its hind legs, it leaned against you, still hyperactively barking.

"Why hello." You cooed at the small Pokémon, gently getting it's front paws of your chest to spare your ribs. "Who are you?" You asked, scratching the creature behind its ears. It closed its eyes in pleasure, tongue lolling out at the side. Leon was looking at the scene with a small smile, watching you interact with the Pokémon.

You carefully grabbed your Pokédex from your pocket, trying to not disturb the dog. Your Pokédex flipped open but when you pointed it at the Pokémon, it displayed an error.

"Huh?" You tried again but once more the error popped up, just displaying a red cross on the black screen.

"What's wrong?" Leon asked, leaning over the table a bit and you moved your Pokédex so that he could see the screen.

"I think I don't have the Galar region Pokédex installed on this thing." You said before pouting. "Aw, but Professor Rowan said it would be fine."

Leon laughed a bit before speaking. "I think you can go to Sonia for that then. Her lab is in Wedgehurst and I think she'd be able to do that for you."

You grinned at the man in front of you before turning to the Pokémon on your lap and picking it up to hold it in front of your face. "You hear that little one? I'll be able to know what you are." The Pokémon yipped happily before trying to lick your face.

"That's a Yamper. It's a normal-electric type." Leon explained and you smiled gratefully at him.

"Yamper! Yamper?" A small girl came into the compartment, yelling for the small dog and you quickly stuck out your arm, waving it at her.

"Over here!" You yelled.

The girl immediately came running over to see her Yamper on your lap. "Oh! You found him!" She picked up the small dog-Pokémon and immediately got licked in the face by the hyperactive beast. "Thank you very much!" She thanked you before turning to Leon, freezing when she saw him. "Oh my." The small girl started bouncing with excitement and you giggled. The girl started talking very fast, barely being able to keep up with her own mouth. Poor Leon probably had to deal with this on a daily basis.

Leon didn't seem to mind however and patiently listened to the girl ramble on; interjecting to answer whenever needed.

When she didn't seem to be stopping anytime soon, you stepped in. "Would you like a picture with Leon?" You asked and the girl stopped mid-sentence, beaming at you a moment later.

"A picture with the unbeatable Champion? Yes please!" She excitedly yelled and you could clearly see the Yamper was mirroring his trainer's excited behaviour.

You held out your hand with a sweet smile and the girl handed you her phone. Leon motioned her over and she came closer, holding her hand up in the same pose you saw Leon do before while the Yamper sat happily between the two.

You quickly took the photo and handed her back her phone. She took it and thanked the both of you before sprinting away, Yamper still in her arms.

"You have a way of dealing with fans." Leon crossed his arms over his chest and closed his eyes, a smile playing on his lips.
