The two of you had gone over to the inn in Turffield after your little sky adventure. And for the first time since this all happened, you had a good night's rest.
Crobat stayed out of his Pokéball all night, just cuddling up with you in your sleep. Of course he had crushed you more than once in the night, even rolling over onto Rookidee once - who loudly chirped in distress until you woke up and rescued him from the soundly sleeping bat Pokémon. (He proceeded to sleep on your pillow the rest of the night, far away from the clutches of crushing death that was sleeping in the middle of the bed)

"Y/N!"
You swivelled around to look at the purple haired man running towards you. Several days had passed of fruitless searching, but now that you had Crobat to keep an eye in the sky, it made things a lot easier and weighed less on your conscious, knowing the bat would have a better time spotting any irregularities.
"Yes?"
Leon came to a halt next to you and sent you a dashing smile. "Hop just texted me saying both he and Gloria are in Hulbury. They are going to challenge the gym today and asked if we were coming to watch." He explained and you thought for a second. "It's good to take a break every now and then." Leon then stated and you couldn't help but agree with that.
"Alright. Let's go." You sent him a soft smile and went to grab your Pokéball that Crobat was currently resting in, only for Leon to stop you by gently grabbing your hand, moving at away from your belt.
"Let Crobat rest for today, he has been working hard."
"Then how am I supposed to get to Hulbury in time?" You chuckled, a little unsure.
"Well, there are always the flying taxi's." Leon shrugged. "But-" and he grabbed an ultra ball from his belt, "I was thinking of taking the Charizard taxi." As he spoke, he threw the ultra ball in the air and out came the large orange dragon. He shook his body for a second, happy to be out of the ball, before turning his head to look down at you and Leon.
"Hm, I guess that could work, yes." You put a hand on your chin as if deep in thought, putting on your best snobby expression. "This is of course a fit and strong specimen, yes? I don't want anything less." You waggled your finger in front of Leon's face.
"Of course." Leon teasingly nodded, going along with your little performance though you also noticed he was just short of rolling his eyes.
"Good, good. And I assume he has many years of flying experience? I don't want to crash, of course." You started walking around Charizard as if examining the Pokémon.
Charizard himself just seemed very curious with what you were doing, following you with his head as you walked all around him. When you returned to standing before him, he lowered his head to your level and rumbled questioningly, having an adorable puppy look to him.
"Hm, yes. I think this one will do. He seems like a good boi." You turned your attention from Charizard to Leon, nodding convincingly and Leon chuckled, shaking his head at your little performance.
Charizard on the other hand, absolutely lit up when you called him a good boy and immediately swallowed you in his arms as he had grown to do. He firmly had you pressed against himself and had once again wrapped his wings around you as well.
Seeing your snobby-critic look turn into one of surprised shock within a second and now only seeing your feet dangle off the ground, the rest of you hidden behind dragon limbs, made Leon burst out laughing. He needed a few seconds but started walking towards his trusty partner.
"I'm afraid you did this one yourself." He said, still laughing slightly.
"Can't argue with you there." You wheezed out, sounding a little muffled.
"So, Charizard, shall we go?" Leon turned to look his Pokémon in the eye and Charizard took the hint, letting you go.
As always, you stumbled slightly when you were suddenly released, but Leon caught your wrist and pulled you towards himself, a smile still on his face.
You went from one stumble into the other and accidentally crashed into Leon's chest.
He easily caught you and helped you stand up straight and normal again, smiling down at you before abruptly twirling you around and lifting you up by your waist, putting you atop of Charizard as he had done once before. He almost immediately hopped up behind you and you noticed how his chest was pressed against you as he leaned over you slightly to signal Charizard.
The dragon shook his head and spread out his wings, getting ready to take off. To prepare for that, Leon wrapped his arm around your waist, making you blush slightly since this caused him to inadvertently pull you a bit closer to himself.
And so, with one hand around your waist and one hand holding on to Charizard, the Pokémon took off, leaving from the route just outside of Turffield to Hulbury, for the incoming gym battles.
