The two girls snapped their heads up at the mention of your voice. Their previous excitement of being summoned by the Champion disappearing and making place for dread.

Leon turned his head to look at you and motioned you over. "Is this true?" He turned back to the two girls in front of him, regaining his stern look.

"I- We-" The blonde started but Leon put his hand up.

"Is. This. True?" He reiterated

Both girls hung down their heads and muttered a quiet yes. Surprise splayed on your face at them admitting so easily. I guess Leon being the Champion really did have some persuasive powers.

Leon looked over to you. You got the hint and took a step closer, making the girls look up. "Just give me back my Pokemon and we'll forget about this. Even though you did attack me."

A painful expression shot across the blonde's face at the mention of the attack while the brunette suddenly looked very fearful.

Leon noticed and stopped leaning on the railing, uncrossing his arms as his brows knitted together. "You don't have her Pokemon anymore, do you?"

Both the girls were on the verge of tears and the blonde nodded, looking up. "I'm really, really sorry. I-I don't know why I took them. I just got so angry and I couldn't control myself and- and then when we got here to the city I realised what I did and we had to get rid of the evidence somehow so- so-"

"-So we sold them." The brunette finished the sentence for her friend. Also about to burst with tears.

"Why? Why not just give them back?!" Leon started questioning the girls but everything drowned out for you as realisation set in. They sold your Pokemon. Most likely to some dealer who worked under the grid, meaning they would be untraceable. They could be anywhere...

You walked back and slid down when your back hit the railing, letting your back rest against the wall while you just focused to keep your breathing steady. A hand on your shoulder brought you out of your trance and you saw Leon crouched down next to you. His eyes spoke volumes as he looked at you and you placed your hand over his, smiling very lightly. A new resolve started to burn within you thanks to that small gesture and your eyes trailed up to the two girls. You sighed and started standing up. Leon was supporting you within a second, making it easier for you to get up.

"I-I'm so sorry..." The blonde really was crying now and your features softened.

Taking a step forward, you placed your hand on her shoulder and slightly squeezed it, doing the same for the shorter girl. "Just try to give me as much information possible of where my Pokemon might be, please."

Both girls looked shocked at the gentle gesture and it only took a second before the brunette collapsed into your arms, crying. You flinched a little but slung your arm around the poor girl either way, comforting her. The blonde was a little more hesitant but after you pulled her in, she wrapped her arms around you nonetheless, burying her face into your shoulder.

You stood there with the two sobbing girls, just gently rubbing their backs as they hugged you and cried out their tears. Leon still stood behind you, though seeing you hug the girls who basically assaulted you made something within him flutter.

When they had finally calmed down enough, the girls broke free from the hug and looked at you with small smiles and puffy eyes.

"I-I can get your bag." The brunette sniffled out and your eyebrows raised in surprise before a smile spread on your face.

"You still have that?"

She nodded happily. "Do you want me to get it?"

"Please. It has all my stuff in it." You smiled at the girl and she went to sprint away but you stopped her by grabbing her arm. "Wait. What's your name?"

"Jolie." The girl smiled and ran off somewhere while you turned to the blonde.

She got what you meant and stood up a little straighter. "Oh, uh, I'm Dana."

"Nice to meet you officially Dana. Do you want to exchange phone numbers so that we can keep in contact? If we do that, when you find something about where my Pokemon could be, you can text me."

Dana nodded and pulled out her phone, you doing the same. You quickly exchanged numbers and Jolie came running back, your bag under her arm.

"Awesome!" You smiled at the small girl and she handed you your bag with a small embarrassed blush. "Thank you." The girls nodded and went to turn away but you stopped them. "Oh and one last thing, please don't stalk poor Leon over here." You pointed your thumb back towards Leon, who had been leaning on the railing again. He looked up in confusion at the mention of his name while both girls looked extremely embarrassed. "I get why but try to remember that Champions are people too, with their own lives and relations that they may want to keep private." You had said this exact sentence numerous times before to some fans of Cynthia, so it rolled off of your tongue effortlessly. Both girls nodded before saying goodbye and walking away. Jolie looked back one last time and you waved at her before the both of them disappeared around a corner.

You turned around to face Leon to see him with an expression that was a mix between being impressed and being confused.

"What?" You asked him with a shrug, causing a painful sting to shoot through your ribs, making you immediately regret that action.

"Nothing, just impressed with how you handled that." He held his hands up and pushed off of the wall. "How about we go and rent a room in the Budew Drop Inn right there?" He then asked, pointing to the building diagonally across the street from you. "It's starting to get quite dark."

"That seems smart." You smiled before your gaze dropped to the bag in your hands. You gasped, making Leon turn to you in concern while you just triumphantly stuck your bag in the air. "And now I can pay!" You exclaimed before hobbling to the Inn as fast as your body allowed you to, leaving a very confused Leon as to what just happened. You didn't notice though, you were too focused on getting a bed to flop in.

Despite the bad news of your Pokemon, you decided to stay positive. No matter what, you would find them. Besides, they wouldn't want you to be sad. No. Determination was all that coerced through you as you lay in bed that night; absolutely ready to do anything to find your partners.
