The house fell silent as Azar put her daughter to sleep. She kissed the top of her head gently and left the night light on.When settled in her room, she sat on the floor and went through the memory box that held all her memories of James Buchanan Barnes.
She held the dog tags, the symbol of their marriage, and pressed it close to her heart. Tears blurred her vision as she remembered him proposing to her and their secret wedding.
She put it around her neck and closed her eyes. 'I know you would do this without a second thought.' She thought to herself.
She rummaged through the box that held the little trinkets of their love. She found the recipe that Bucky used to make for her and giggled softly as she remembered how she had to smile despite the taste.

She sat at the table anxiously waiting for her husband to finish cooking. He tried to prepare a meal that her sister used to make for her.
Lately, Azar had been missing Artemis more than usual and Bucky had decided to cheer her up with her favourite meal that her sister always made.
"Babe, do you need help?" Azar asked hearing the commotion in the kitchen.
"No, this meal is prepared for you. You just stay where you are and relax." Bucky called from the kitchen. "Besides, I'm almost done." He said before exiting with the dish in his hand.
"It smells amazing." She complimented him with a fond smile.
"Spaghetti and meatballs for my wife." He said as he began dishing up for them.
"I never had it cooked before." She admitted with a smile as she watched him.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"Well it wasn't necessarily cooked, it was more like out of a can." She replied and began eating.
"It was usually if I messed up during my training.." She explained. "The instructor would be a dick so Artemis cheered me up. We used the burner to cook it in the can in the late hours of the night."
"Well.. No one will ever hurt you again, doll. I'll do anything for you." Bucky promised as he brought his hand up to stroke her cheek softly.

'I'll do anything for you.' His words ran through her head.
"Mommy." A voice interrupted her causing her to look towards the doorway.
"Hey sweetheart." She replied softly to the little girl as she dried her eyes.
"Do you miss Daddy?" Rebecca asked as she made her way over to her mother.
"Everyday." Azar answered as she held her daughter in her arms and kissed her head gently.
"I miss him too." The four year old admitted even not knowing her father.
"Well.. Uncle Steve has a plan.. And if his plan works, it will bring Daddy home." Azar said slowly.
"Then Mommy won't be sad anymore?" The little girl asked, looking up at her mother.
"I'm half-sad.." The brunette replied. "I have you but if his plan works.. I'll be whole and happy." She added.
"Let me show you some of daddy's things." She said with a soft smile which earned her a bright smile from Rebecca, her baby blue eyes shining with wonder.
She showed the girl a bracelet. "Your Dad wa--" She paused. "Your Dad is an amazing man. He got me this for my birthday." She said.
"He knew how much I love the stars and he made me a bracelet that resembled it." She smiled softly as she placed the bracelet around Rebecca's wrist. "Keep it safe for me until I come back."
"I love you, Mommy." Rebecca said, wrapping her arms around her mother.
"I love you too, honey." Azar replied, holding her daughter close as she kissed her head.
