The war was over but the death of her best friend was still fresh in Azar's mind.

She and Bucky travelled home to their daughter who was left in the care of Happy Hogan.

The dark haired super soldier was clearly nervous about his first encounter with his daughter.

All he knew was that his wife named her after his sister and that she was one sassy little girl.

But just as quickly as those emotions appeared, they had vanished when a soft hand rested gently on top of his before blue locked onto brown.

"She's going to love you." Azar said with a soft smile as she comforted him.

The car came to a halt, indicating to the couple that they have arrived.

They got out of the car only to be met with a beautiful little girl, who resembled both of her parents, standing on the front porch.

"Mommy!" The four year old squealed with excitement as she ran up to her mother.

Azar dropped to her knees and pulled her daughter into a hug filled with love and warmth.

"Hey beautiful.." She said and placed a gentle kiss on top of her head. "I have someone who is dying to meet you." She smiled softly and looked up at her husband.

The little girl's blue gaze followed her mother's, landing on a man whose eyes resembled her own. She looked back to her mother.

"Is that my Daddy?" She asked with hopeful eyes, the brunette woman smiling at her daughter with a nod.

The former assassin knelt down beside Azar, staring at the little blonde girl with tears in his eyes.

"Rebecca.. Hi.." He said with a soft smile on his face. "I'm your Dad."

Without hesitation, Rebecca had wrapped her arms around her father with a huge smile.

"It took you long enough." She said sassily which made the soldier chuckle as he held his daughter close.

The brunette took in the sight with a smile as she watched her husband bond with their daughter.

Later that evening, Bucky had put a tired out Rebecca to bed.

He placed her favourite stuffed teddy next to her and tucked her in before switching on her night-light.

He took a step back and stared at his daughter's peaceful face. "I only met you for the first time today and you have already become one of the two most precious things to me." He began with a smile. "I can't promise to be perfect, I'm going to make mistakes along the way but what I can promise you, is that I'm going to be the best father that I can be. It's all my princess deserves."

"And I promise you, baby doll, that I'm never going to leave you and your Momma again." He leaned down and kissed her forehead softly. "You both are my world and I love you so very much." He said.

He stood up straight with a smile tugging at his lips as he sensed a presence behind him.

"How long have you been standing there?" He asked, turning around to look at his wife who had been leaning against the doorframe with a soft smile.

"Just for your entire little speech." She replied with a shrug before she made her way over to him, wrapping her arm around his waist and he pulled her to his side.

The couple smiled at each other before shifting their gaze to their daughter.

"She's all ours.." The Kree halfling whispered softly.

"Yeah." The super soldier nodded with a soft smile and looked down at his wife. "You did good with her, doll."

The brunette looked up at her husband with a smile of her own before she pressing a soft kiss against his lips. "And so will you."

And with one last glance at Rebecca, the couple retired to their bedroom for the evening.
