When Avia left her room with her laptop, she had no idea where she was going. This is new territory to her and she hasn't had the tour yet. She managed to find the library where she can just type her stories and hope to god nobody talks to her. She found a spot down a book aisle that seems like nobody goes down due to dust build up on the books. Avia made her way down the aisle and sat against the wall. She opened her MacBook Pro lid, turned it on then she opened up the book she's currently working on. Plugging the earphone connector into the earphone jack, then putting the earphones in her ears she started typing.
Avia wasn't paying attention to her surrounds, so she didn't notice Alec walking up to her. As her fingers flew across the keyboard, impressing Alec by never touching the backspace button. He smiled at her softly, sat against one of the bookcases and started reading the story she gave him to read. The silence between the brunettes was disturbed by someone banging against the bookcase in the next aisle. Avia looked up and was shocked to see Alec sitting there looking at the bookcase across from him.
"How did you find me?" Avia asked as she looked confused as to why Alec was sitting there on the floor with her.
"Well, you love books. So, this is the most obvious place to go." Alec shrugged his shoulders as he smiled at Avia.
"Alec, what are you doing here?" Avia asked the brunette sitting diagonal from her.
"You looked really upset about that photo, I wanted to check on you. Besides you don't know your way around here and I thought I'd offer a tour since I've been here longer than you." Alec told the pretty brunette.
"I just want to be along for a little while. This is keeping me occupied from that asshole of an ex-boyfriend... I don't even know why I just told you that." Avia shook her head and was about to put her earphones back in, but Alec started talking.
"Don't worry, I'll just sit here and continue reading this. You don't have to talk to me, I'm not going to force you into talking." Alec shrugged his shoulders as he continued to read Avia's true story.
Avia looked at him for a few seconds, taking in his features. His pronounced jaw jumped out has his main feature, then you have his light brown eyes along with his soft looking brown hair and his tan complexion. Avia shoving the earphones back in her ear then continued to type. The sound of keys clicking very fast and the sound of pages turning between the two, it's like they're bonding. But without talking to each other. Alec stole glanced at the typing brunette, he watched as Avia bit her lip as she focused on the words flying over the screen. He smiled and went back to reading.
Avia would look at Alec's facial expression when he's reading the book. He would smile at the happy parts, scrunch his forehead at the frustrating parts and frown at the sad parts. Avia swore she could see a little eye water when he got to first real sad part. Avia soon found that she has stopped typing which caused Alec to look over at Avia, her eyes widen and looked back at computer. She quickly saved her work and closed her computer, she stood up and put her computer in the bag.
"You offered a tour?" Avia asked Alec.
Alec looked up at her dumbfounded, he didn't think that she would have changed her mind so fast. He quickly put the stick note on the page he's reading at the moment, putting the story back in the sleeve and stood up. He looked down at her and he motioned her to start walking.
"Alright, so you know where the library is. Over there is the cafeteria, all you have to do is swipe your card and you're all good to get food. They do have stores like Starbucks and food stores around here that do hire students when they're not studying and all that..."
"You said that you live off site, why don't you live here? It's a wonderful place to live." Avia spoke up softly as Alec pushed the cafeteria door.
"Well some people had to move off campus so the undergrads can move in. a few of my friends including myself have moved off site, I moved a little bit closer to work." Alec answered Avia as they entered the cafeteria.
They both walked over to the food, Avia grabbed lots of watermelon and a slice of mango pie. Avia swiped her card after Alec did his, they found a table to sit at.
"From what I've read of your story, it's amazing. Serious have you ever consider of becoming an author?" Alec asked Avia.
Avia shrugged her shoulders as she put a piece of watermelon in her mouth and started chewing it.
"I have no idea; I've never really thought about it." Avia answered Alec as she stole a grape from his bowl. Alec playfully glared at her and stole a piece of watermelon from her plate and ate it.
"Well consider it, because it's amazing." Alec smiled at Avia ad she smiled back with a giggled.
Alec and Avia sat there for close to 2 hours of talking. Alec told her about his family and his dog, Avia told him about her sister and mum. Jobs that they wanted when they were little, Avia gave him book recommendation for him to read when he's not working or studying. After the long tour, Alec walked Avia back to her dorm since it was getting dark out, the walk was a comfortable silence as they walked up to her level and stopped outside her door.
"I'll continue reading this and I'll call you when I'm finished. But seriously, keep going... keep writing." Alec told Avia.
"Thank you again for showing me around the College and to my classes." Avia thanked Alec who's standing in front of her.
"It's no problem really. I'll see you tomorrow?" Alec said biting his bottom lip.
Avia felt her knees quiver at the sight of Alec's lip biting. She quickly regained herself and nodded her head shyly.
"Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow." Avia spoke softly.
"Well, night." Alec said place a soft kiss on Avia's cheek and then walked off.
"Goodnight." Avia whispered as she touched are cheek where Alec has kissed.
Avia smiled and walked into her dorm and saw Nate and Rita cuddling watching a movie on Rita's computer. Avia took her jacket off and put her bag on her bed. Rita paused the movie, Nate and Rita looked over at Avia.
"I-I... I'm sorry for the cold shoulder earlier. The photo that I ripped up..." Rita cut Avia off and pulled her onto her bed and in between Nate and Rita.
"You don't have to tell us, we get it. But if you do need talk to anybody, we're here." Nate told the smaller brunette.
"Maybe having these people as my friends is really going to help me through College." Avia thought to herself.
