Avia had finally finished signing all the book with little to no sleep over the past two days, she's getting Alec to talk the books back to work today since he was called in. Tonight, is family dinner and she promised that she'd take Evie out to the mall to get a new outfit and get their nails done.
"So, Evie. Is there anyone you like at school?" Avia asked Evie as they sat down to get their nails done.
"Well, there's this one girl. But I don't think she likes me like that." Evie shrugged her shoulders as she watched the manicure lady do her nails.
"You never know unless you speck up about your feelings." Avia told her younger sister.
"What about you and Alec? What's going on there?" Evie asked ignoring Avia's statement.
"Oh no, you are not changing the subject. What's this girls' name?" Avia giggled lightly as she shook her head.
"Her name is Madison; she's been my best friend since kindergarten. She probably only sees me as a sister." Evie answered it very irritated.
Evie hasn't come out about her being a lesbian. It's not that she's afraid or ashamed of being one, considering her brother Sam is openly gay. Avia let it go once she heard the tone in Evie's voice and decided to answer Evie's question.
"Alec and I aren't boyfriend and girlfriend, or friends with benefits. We're just taking it slow right now besides, he hasn't taken me on a date yet." Avia shrugged her shoulder, not caring about the fact that he hasn't asked her out yet.
"Well, he's going to ask you soon." Evie said smiling at her older sister.
"Whatever." Avia said rolling her eyes.
Dinner came around quicker than expect. Avia got changed into some ripped black skinny jeans with a cute grey cropped top that only showed the bottom part of her stomach. Avia chucked on some Adidas ankle socks since her feet are slightly cold. She walked down the stairs to find Sam sitting on the lounge playing on his phone. Avia walked over and plopped down on the seat next to him and smiled at him.
"Who are you talking too?" Avia asked Sam softly knowing that he's sensitive towards his relationships.
"I'm just talking to Daniel. He's off camping with his family." Sam answered locking his phone and turning to his older sister.
"So, you guys are going good right?" Avia asked raising her eyebrows up at her brother.
"Yeah we are. I don't know when I want him to meet the family though." Sam spoke a little sad about the thought of Daniel not being here.
"Listen, we all want you to be happy. If Daniel makes you happy, then you know they'd love to meet him." Avia spoke softly as she placed her hand on Sam's shoulder and squeezed it in comfort.
"Thanks sis." Sam smiled softly as wrapped his arms around Avia's waist.
"Dinners ready." Danielle called out to the kids that are scatted throughout the house.
"Come on, before Sean and dad eat all the food." Avia told her younger brother and then left to the dining room.
Avia was stopped in her tracks when there was a knock on the door. She called out that she's got the door to find out that it was Alec on the other side holding a book in his hand.
"I know that this is very last minute and that you hate flowers. So, this is my flower to you. But, Avia would you like to accompany me on a date?" Alec asked her as his big brown eyes looked up at her through his lashes.
