"You must be Avia." Avia heard a female's voice as the door open.
"Um...that's me." She answered as she stood there very awkward.
Avia looked behind the female to see that the room was bigger than hers back home before her mum became a huge lawyer.
"I'm so sorry, my name is Rita. Let me take that." Rita took the box out of Avia's hands and let her in.
Avia looked around the room as she entered to see that it was big enough to have two single beds and two wardrobes. She set her duffle bag down on the free bed that's closer to the window. Avia looked out of the window to see friends hugging like they haven't seen each other in forever.
"I hope you don't mind my boyfriend coming over. He's helping carry the heavier stuff." Rita looked at Avia with an apologetic look.
New people freak Avia out, ever since she was in primary school, she has always been the one to sit in the corner with her head in a book. Never talks to anyone, but she needs to suck it up and make new friends. She knew that Rita would have a boyfriend, she's stunning. Everything about Rita makes Avia even more insecure about herself, even Rita's hair is making her Avia question her own.
"That's fine." Avia answered shyly as she opened the bag.
Avia opened the box so she can unpack her books onto the desk on her side of the room. She couldn't bring all of her books, which she didn't like, but she has a lot of books and they all wouldn't be able to fit.
"Wow, you really like your books."
Rita's eyes widen when she saw the number of books on the top shelf of Avia's desk. Avia blushed, she didn't mean for Rita to see how much she has. Avia doesn't want her, roommate for the rest of the year, to see her as a dedicated book worm.
"Oh, that's not even half of her books."
Avia glared at her twin before she shoved her face into her pillow.
"Hey, I'm Aria Foster. Avia's fraternal twin." Aria stuck out her hand. Rita grabbed her hand and shook it.
Aria, younger twin sister to Avia. Blonde-haired, five foot five inches with a slim body shape. Some people would look at Avia and Aria and deny them for being twins because they look so different.
"Rita, Avia's roommate."
"And I'm Nate and this is Alec."
Avia, Rita and Aria all looked towards the door to see two very handsome guys, both wearing tops that showed of their bulging biceps. Alec looked over at Avia and shot her a cute smile that can make any girl go weak at the knees.
Alec was the tallest one who stood at six foot three inches, towering over Avia who is five foot one inches. Alec has olive skin tone and has a sharper jaw line. Nate on the other hand stood at five foot nine inches with a paler skin tone and a softer jaw line. People would say that Nate is the baby fact of the two.
"Alrighty. Well mum put my name on this box, but it's yours." Aria told her sister as she put the box on Avia's bed. Avia opened the box and saw her laptop in there with more books.
"Thanks." Avia timidly said to her sister.
"Alright, well I have to get back to my room and finish unpacking. I'll talk to you later. Nice to meet you Rita, Nate, Alec." Aria hugged her sister and walked out of the room.
"So, Avia. Tell us about yourself." Alec softly spoke to break the silence as he flopped down onto Rita's bed.
Avia looked around the room then to the box next to her, reached in and pulled out her quilt cover out to showed them. Rita giggled when she saw what was on the cover.
"Nice choice. Which one's your favourite?" Rita asked as she helped her put the quilt cover on the blanket.
"Dean all the way." Avia spoke with a slight 'duh' tone to it.
Alec and Nate watched as the two girls talked back and forth about Supernatural. Nate smiled as shook his head, Alec just smiled. He could tell that Avia is a little closed off, shy more like it, which automatically made him determined to make her feel more comfortable around new people.
"What are you studying here?" Alec asked, cutting the girls off from their conversation that now went on to NCIS: Los Angeles.
"I'm doing creative writing. It's just finding a place that will do paid-internship." Avia answered the brunette male sitting next to Nate. Rita gave Alec thumbs up. Alec nodded his head and winked at Rita.
"I'm sure my boss wouldn't mind. I'd have to have a look at your pervious work obviously, but if I like it, then I'll sure to recommend you to him." Alec told the young brunette.
"Really? But you don't know me, I could be a murder or something." Avia looked at Alec as she sat on her freshly made bed.
"Oh honey, you are so adorable. I think I'm going to keep you... but you do need to go shopping though."
Rita scrunched up her nose at what Avia was wearing. Avia was wearing a pair of Adidas sweat pants, a cropped top that says Keep Calm and Read a Book, an Adidas jacket with dirty white Converses. Avia looked down at her outfit.
"I like this top though." Avia pointed to the cropped top.
"Oh, so do I, but everything else is... boring." Rita said as she walked to her wardrobe. She grabbed out black jean shorts out of the draw and threw them at Avia.
"Change into them and then I'll do your hair." Rita said as she held up the blanket to give Avia some sort of privacy.
Avia quickly changed into the shorts, Rita threw the pants on the bed and pushed Avia into the desk chair. Nate and Alec whispered to each other about the girls, but they couldn't hear the boys because Rita was too busy fixing Avia's hair.
"Alec." Avia called out.
"Yeah, babe." Alec smiled over to Avia.
"There's a folder in the box under my desk. It has all my stories in there, can you bring it here please?" Avia asked Alec shyly but politely.
Alec got up from the bed and walked over to the desk. He moved the chair and pulled the box out; his eyes widen when he saw the folder. He looked over at Avia and back at the folder, he shook his head, pulled the folder out and took it over to Avia.
"Holy shit, that's a thick folder." Nate exclaimed when he saw the folder.
"These are just my completed stories." Avia blushed as she opened the folder.
Everyone was quiet as she flicked through the folder then took the plastic sleeve out of the folder and handed it to Alec.
"I'll um... I'll start it went I get home... how many pages is this?" Alec asked as he looked at Avia very impressed as the size of the book.
"Around 490, but that's not double sided." Avia answered the brunette. "It's one of my emotional stories."
"I can tell, it says based off a true story." Alec pointed to the words.
"Alec is a bookworm. He's more into music but he's one of the editors at work, he's great at it." Rita spoke up like she's a proud mother.
Avia looked down at the folder and saw a picture of her ex and her at the local fair in Nebraska. She ran her finger down his face and screwed her eyes shut. Not knowing she was being watched, she ripped it up and threw it in the bin under Rita's desk. Rita looked at the guys really concerned.
"Who was that?" Rita asked softly to the sad brunette in her desk chair.
"Nobody important. You done?" Asked Avia.
"Yeah." Rita stood back.
"Great, thanks." Avia stood up and grabbed her computer bag and left.
Rita and the boys looked at each other very concerned as Avia left. They were just getting her out of her shell and then one photo brought her back inside her shell.
"Should we?" Nate asked his girlfriend, pointing towards where Avia left.
"Give it half an hour. If she's not back, then we go after her." Rita sighed and laid down on Avia's bed.
