Chapter Thirty-Two

Brian and Danielle have been awake for a few hours when the nurse came in with a tray of food. Danielle groaned at the sight of the hospital food.

"Babe, can you go get me a burger from down the road please?" Danielle pouted over at her husband.

"Sorry sweetie. Once you get out of here then we can go get some burgers, but for right now, you need to eat this." Brian smiled softly at Danielle reaching over and grabbing the red jelly in the cup.

"You better mean it." Danielle glared before turning to the lunch lady and thanked her for the for taking a bite out of the sandwich.

Brian started thinking about how to tell his wife about her having twins. He knew that during the triplet's pregnancy there was difficulties with Evie since she kept on hiding behind Sam and Sean. He put the jelly cup down on the tray before sitting on the bed next to his wife's feet.

"What's wrong?" Danielle looked up from her book when she felt the bed shift.

"Nothing's wrong. But before I tell you, I need you to know that it's going to be alright and the reason why the radiologist didn't pick it up because she was hiding." Brian spoke softly and slowly for Danielle to process what he just said. Danielle sat up in shock.

"Brian, what do you mean she was hiding?" Danielle asked in a panic.

"When they had you in surgery, they did an ultrasound since apparently you told them that you were pregnant before falling unconscious. They found not one baby, but two, babies." Brian stopped to let his wife take in the information.

"I'm 5 months pregnant. How did they miss this? With my weight, with how big I am."

"Apparently, she was hiding behind her brother just like how Evie was hiding behind Sam and Sean." Brian answered as he held onto Danielle's hand a she processed what Brian had told her.

Danielle's other hand moved towards her baby bump and started lightly rubbing it. Danielle knew that twins are in both of their families, more towards Brian's but they're still there. She smiled softly as she looked down at the baby bump.

Meanwhile over the other side of town the police had ransacked Meredith's house and found a lot of evidence indicating that she has been planning on hurting the loved ones of her oldest daughter.

"Let me go in first, 10 minutes and then you guys come in." Shane smirked at the police before walking inside. He messaged Meredith saying that he's on his way up with exciting news, but not her exciting news. Shane made his way out of the elevator to Meredith's office and saw that she was on the phone.

"I'll see him in two days, that's final." Meredith pointed to the seat in front of her before she hung the phone up. "Now, is it done?"

"Yeah, he's in hospital. They had to put him in a medical induced coma." Shane spoke emotionless. "You must be very proud of what you just caused for your daughter. She's in so much pain right now, it's not funny. You just couldn't leave her alone, you had to make me beat up her boyfriend for what? For your own broken heart caused by a guy that could see the true you. You might want to cancel all appointments that you have for the remainder of your career, because you're never going to be a lawyer ever again."

Shane stood up and walked to the door. He stopped when Meredith started talking.

"You have no idea what I'm capable of, Shane. How is your wife? When was the last time you spoke with her?" Meredith slowly stood up from her chair and walked around the big wooden desk.
