"Ah, the House of Lamentation! There's no place like it; the interior, the food, the sounds around here, everythin'! I missed it!" Mammon stretched his arms as he pulled in his suitcase.
By the time everyone had returned to the House of Lamentation, it was already past midnight in the Devildom. Leviathan yawned. "Finally, no more socializing! I'm beat," the Avatar of Envy said.
"Stop making it sound like a huge deal, Levi. We were only gone for three days," Satan sighed. "Only? Did you say ONLY for three days? I had to leave half of my Ruri-chan figurines for the damn retreat since my suitcase could only carry the other half! Eighteen of my figurines abandoned!" Leviathan sulked.
Asmodeus leaned onto the wall. He was on his D.D.D. trying to post the videos and pictures he got in the human world. He hummed happily. "Hm... I'd rather say it was more of a fruitful trip for me," Asmodeus spoke. "Ugh... There he goes, talking about all the amazing things that happened to him," Belphegor rolled his eyes.
"What? I mean, how can you not want to talk about me? Like how a human could make a pact with me during the retreat, and even drew out power from me more than Solomon could!" Asmodeus squealed. Satan placed a hand on his chin; it came to his mind once again that this was the fifth pact that Asumi had made in such a short time span.
He wondered. "Say, Asumi. This is the fifth pact you've made, correct?" the Avatar of Wrath stated. "Oh, yeah! I nearly forgot about that. I'm pretty sure it is," Leviathan gasped. Asumi cocked her head to the side.
"And?" the human raised a brow. The brothers exchanged glances. "We're wondering why you'd want to form pacts with us," Asmodeus said. Belphegor yawned as he leaned onto his orange-haired twin and grunted. "Well, Beel and I don't need to know anything. We insisted that Asumi was allowed to make pacts with us in return for literally saving our lives from Lucifer," Belphegor explained.
As his twin chewed on a hotdog with purgatory mustard and melted cheese, he gulped down the food before speaking.
"But I'm curious. Why do you want to make pacts with us, Asumi?" Beelzebub interjected. "Exactly. I would like to know. First, it was to only help Levi, but suddenly you just decided to randomly make pacts," Satan implored. "Now that ya mention it, I'd like an answer too," Mammon placed his hands on his hips, "ya plannin' somethin'?"
Asumi made motions with her hands and shook her head. She bowed slightly. "No, no, no! It's not like that, I promise," Asumi replied. "Come on, you wouldn't be making pacts if there wasn't a reason. So spill!" Asmodeus chirped. The auburn-haired human averted her gaze away from the brothers. All eyes were on her now.
"I already told you. I'm not planning anything absurd," Asumi said, sighing. "Then... why?" Beelzebub inquired. "Is it because you don't feel safe or that Lucifer doesn't respect you because of the recent events? Please tell us."
A pleading look adorned Beelzebub's eyes as he grasped Asumi's hands. The others also stood behind him in anticipation of the answer. "I guess that's a quarter right? I need to gain Lucifer's respect, don't I?" Asumi looked down.
"Eh? Why'd ya need to do that?" Mammon frowned. "Hmm, yes. I'd also like to know why," said a distinct deeper voice.
Everyone turned to face a familiar tall, red-eyed demon with his signature frown plastered upon his face. He towered over Asumi. "D'AH! Where'd you come from?!" Mammon screamed. "It's none of your concern, Mammon," Lucifer shook his head.
Asumi swallowed.
"L-Lucifer..." she exhaled as Beelzebub let go of her hands. "Why do you want to earn my respect?" Lucifer asked. "I thought we were friends. You're a human, I'm a demon. Is there something that I should know about?"
