A Few Weeks Later...

What can be so difficult about saying no? Having said that, if she did, Asumi would have to face a very pissed-off demon.

While Satan's pact offer was still valid, Asumi kept thinking about it each day. At least the fact that Satan had the patience to wait that long for Asumi's response shows some measure of patience on his part.

The human was currently in her sixth-period class at RAD, and she had classes with the brothers with who she had made pacts. It was the end of the day too, and they had decided to stay back in class before heading home.

While Asumi closed her eyes in contemplation of attempting a new dance routine, Mammon tapped her shoulder. "Human, you're spacin' out again. What business do ya have poking 'yer head around in the clouds, huh?" Mammon asked.

"Since when has Asumi not had her head away from reality?" Asmodeus sighed dreamily and turned to face the human. "Sweetheart, what have you been up to, you sneaky devil~? You've been acting ditsy. Is there something wrong?"

He wrapped his arms around Asumi's shoulders. Of course, Mammon had something to say about that. "Oi! You're too close, Asmo! Get off of her!" he shouted. Belphegor grumbled and rested his cheek on his right palm. "Stop it, Mammon. You yell too much," he yawned.

"Yeah, mhm... As if sleepin' excessively ain't a bad thing," Mammon rolled his eyes. Asumi cleared her throat and a cough and sat back. She pressed the hairpin that sat firmly on the left side of her hair before speaking.

"Ah, not really. It's just something that's been on my mind for quite some time now," Asumi shook her head and frowned, "Satan's hooked me."

"EH?!" Mammon gasped. "Shshshhh! I'm not done talking. It's not what you think!" Asumi huffed. "Then what, huh?!" Mammon snarled. "Satan wants to make an unreasonable pact with me without genuine interest," Asumi finished. Upon hearing that sentence, Belzebub choked on another Gigadeath Burder he was munching on. Asmodeus nearly dropped his nail polish, and Mammon fell over from shock, as Belphegor rose up from his desk at a rapid pace. Leviathan even put down his game to scream.

"WHAT?!" they hollered. Asumi placed a hand on her forehead. "You didn't say yes, did you?!" Leviathan gasped. "No, I did not," Asumi shook her head. "The reason why Satan wanted to talk to me that morning was to, quote-on-quote, "aid" me in earning Lucifer's trust. But truth be told, he just wants to give Lucifer a black eye."

Asumi continued, "not only that, but if I reject him on the spot, I can guarantee that Satan will throw a fit, knowing him."

The Avatar of Envy cleared his throat and went back to his game. "Then just accept his offer or something. It's that simple not to rile him up," he rolled his eyes. Mammon grumbled. "Levi, you're as dumb as a stump, ya know! If Asumi accepts without Satan's whatever-it-was, Lucifer won't be any nicer," he said.

Belphegor chuckled at this. "Hmph. You know... Mammon is surprisingly right," Belphegor nodded. "Oi! What's that supposed to mean!" Mammon jolted. Beelzebub swallowed the last of his food before speaking.

"Yeah, I agree. Speaking of which, Asumi, when are you going to confront Satan about this?" Beelzebub asked. Asumi sighed as she sat up straight with her hand wrapped in her hair.

She thought for a moment. She wasn't quite sure about this at all. "I'm... not sure," she cried. Belphegor got up and patted a hand on his master's shoulder. "Please calm down, Asumi. You don't need to overthink it," he reassured the human.
