I walk down the halls, going over to Jasper's and I's meeting spot for lunch. I hum a small tune as I walked down the semi-empty halls, everyone was at the lunch room by now or in their classes. The only people in the halls are the people who skip, using the bathroom, running errands, or going to someplace different to eat lunch just like I was.

I pulled out my phone as I walked out of the school building to reach our spot. However, I stopped as I heard cheering coming from around the building. Curious, I walked around the building to see a small group of people, some having their phones out, as two boys were swinging fists, punching one another.

I roll my eyes, about to turn away when I hear someone say, "Go Luke! Knock him out!" I froze, turning back around to see both of the boys more closely, one was my older brother while the other was the famous football star of the school. The same one that took the role of the protagonist in the play.

I run over, pushing my way through the crowd without thinking, "That's enough!" I snapped, knowing exactly what this fight was about. "Stop it both of you!" I struggled pushing them both away, neither of them snapping out of fighting daze. That was until, I couldn't tell, who landed a punch, knocking me to the ground.

Everyone froze, the cheers stopped, and the two fighting boys froze in place as they looked down at me with wide eyes. A girl from the crowd walked up to me, "Are you ok?" She asked as she helped me onto my feet, keeping me steady as I wavered slightly.

I reach up, touching my cheek lightly, wincing when my fingers make contact. "Yeah, I'll be fine." I say, thanking the girl as I turned around.

"(Y/N) ... I'm so sorry -"

The jock was cut off when my brother grabbed the collar of his shirt, preventing him from getting close to me. "You son of a, you think you can just walk up to her after what you've done? You hit my sister you b**tard!" Luke growled, glaring at the jock with hatred burning in his eyes.

"Luke that's enough!" I say, walking up to him as I struggled to pull him away from the jock. "It was an accident!"

"Why are you standing up for him!? After what he's done to you?" My brother questioned, turning his attention on me, as he glared down into my eyes.

"I'm not defending him, I'm just stating the facts. Now stand down, he isn't worth it." I say calmly, trying to keep myself between them.

Luke scoffed, shoving the jock away, "Whatever." He then glared at Luke one last time saying in an aggressive tone, "Consider yourself lucky." Luke then walked away, his friends following right behind him.

"(Y/N) I'm really-"

"Save it." I growled, glaring up at him. "I don't care what you have to say after what you've done." I then walked away, the crowd parting as I walked through.

Finally, after what felt like a whole hour, I made it to our spot, Jasper was sitting there, looking around with worry glistening in his green eyes. He then spotted me, a smile forming along his lips, before forming into a frown as he jumped up, walking up to me.

"What happened?" Jasper questioned, grazing his fingers over my bruised cheek, flinching them away as I winced.

"Kevin ended up punching me as I tried to break up the fight between him and my brother." I explain, walking over towards the picnic table, slamming my backpack onto the wooden table.

"What!?" Jasper questioned angrily. "First he cheats on you and now this! I swear I'm gonna-"

"Please don't do anything, it was an accident. If he wouldn't have done it, my brother might've. They were in a heated moment. It was my fault anyway." I say quickly as I sit down, opening up my backpack, taking out my lunchbox. "Now come, let's eat before we have to go back to class."
