Chapter 1

I blinked open my eyes, sitting up from my bed. I groaned, seeing it was only seven in the morning. I was about to go back to sleep till my phone ringed.
I picked up the phone saying "Hello?" In a annoyed tone.
"Thank god you answered! I've been trying to contact you for the past three hours and last night!" I heard a very agitated voice say on the other line.
I mentally facepalmed saying, "Sorry Sis, I came home late last night."
    I heard a sigh on the other end of the line, "Did you find out what's in the cave?"
    I immediately jumped out of my bed saying, "Yes! I found this beautiful golden star pendant which seemed to be behind a cave wall!"
    "Do you know what year it came from? How did you even get it out of the wall?" My sister asked, hearing excitement and confusion in her voice.
    "There was like this glowing blue hand print and I just put my hand on it then the rock wall just moved out of the way revealing the star! The cave itself seems to be thousands of years old even the carvings and blue lights as well! It's amazing!" I ranted with an excited voice.
    "Woah slow down sparky!" I heard my sister giggle on the other side, struggling to keep up with me.
    "C'mon Stella!! This is the discovery of a life time!" I yelled into the phone, running to my closest taking out some jean shorts and a (f/c) t-shirt.
    "Yeah yeah I get it. Are you going back there today?" She asked.
    "Heck yeah I am!" I answered throwing the clothes onto my white sheets.
    "Alright I have to go to work. Call me if you find anything else and ... please be careful." She said.
    "Of course! When have I ever not been careful!" I replied, placing a hand on my hip.
    "Since you were born." My sister answers with a giggle.
    I laughed, "Ok I get, I'll be careful. Talk to you later!"
     "Ok, love you sis!" She called out through the phone.
    "Love you too! Bye!" I said.
    "Bye!" Then she hung up. I threw my phone on the bed and changed into my clothes. I walked out of the room and into the bathroom. I brushed my teeth, spitting out into the sink every few seconds.
    I then took my hair brush and brushed out my (h/l) (h/c) hair, wincing a few times as the brush passed through tangles.
    Once it was to my satisfaction, I grabbed a hair clip, slipping it into my hair. Then I walked out of the bathroom, closing the door out of habit. I walked down the hallway and down the stairs. I then looked over at the dinning room then to the kitchen.
'Where are they?' I thought, walking into the kitchen looking around. As if on cue I heard barking, a German Shepard and a Scotch Collie came running around the corner.
    I crouch down, allowing them to lick me as I pet them. "There you guys are!" I giggled. I then stood back up saying, "I'll take you guys with me this time! I promise. Now who wants to eat!?" Both dogs responded with barks. The scotch collie spinning in circles every now and then.
    I giggle, grabbing two bowls labeled Jax and Willow. I walked into the cupboard, filling the dog's bowls with dog food that was in a purple tub.
    I placed the bowls back down where they were before, on either side of a large water bowl. The german Shepard walked to the bowl labeled Jax while the scotch collie walked over to the Willow bowl.
    I pet them a little as they begin to eat out of their bowls, gobbling down the food. I walked back into the cupboard, grabbing a cereal bar, eating it quickly.
    I walked to a closest that was in a small hallway between the kitchen and the dining room, opening it and taking out my hiking backpack.
    I placed it down on top of the dining table. I noticed the golden star thing, I walk over to it, picking it up. It was somehow warm to the touch and as it made contact with my hand it glowed brightly. I put it down quickly as it started to somehow heat up, I rubbed my hand saying, "Interesting."
    I left the stuff there and walked to the back door which was past the kitchen, and in the living room near the corner. I walked out the door calling out into the house. "Jax! Willow!" The dogs came running, bolting outside almost knocking me over.
    I giggled, watching the dogs play around chasing each other around the large fenced in yard. I walked over towards the barn, making a high pitched whistle.
    The dogs immediately ran to my side, their playful attitude getting serious. I opened the barn door, hearing a neigh in welcome.
    I felt something jump onto my shoulders, I turn my head to see a calico cat balancing perfectly on my shoulders rubbing her head against my head, purring. "Hello Maple." I said, scratching her behind the ears.
    Maple was my barn cat, I found her injured inside the barn and nursed her back to health. I expected her to be on her way after she was healed but instead she stayed around this barn, catching mice in the hay and protecting the horses from rats.
    I walked deeper into the barn seeing two horses, one being dark brown with a black mane and the other being a beige horse with a white mane. "Hello boys! Miss me?" I asked, stretching out my arms.
The horses neighed in response, I laughed. "Alright let's let you two out." I walked up to the brown horses stall, I unlatched it taking his lead.
"Willow, you take Bruno." I commanded, handing the lead to Willow. Willow clasped the lead in her mouth, then lead the horse out of the the barn.
"Jax you take Apollo." I ordered, taking Apollo's lead and handing it to Jax. Jax took it then led Apollo out of the barn. I followed after them, stopping before a haystack by the door.
Maple jumped off my shoulder, on to the haystack. I pet her a few times, she purred in response. "See you later girl."
I walked over towards where Willow and Jax sat down with the horses leads still in their mouths.
I unhooked the leads to the horses and took out their mouth piece. "Go ahead." I said, gesturing to the open field behind them.
They neighed once more and turned to run through the fields. I smiled, then pat my leg twice for the two dogs to follow. I walked back into my house, my dogs following behind.
I then heard a loud crash coming from the kitchen. I ran to the kitchen, my dogs following behind me. I froze as a man dressed in white robes, armed to the teeth laid on the ground. Another man was on top of him wearing a sort of black cloak, had black hair, light skin, and was missing an arm.
My eyes widened, 'Where on Earth did they come from!?'
