I sat beside the window on the plane, Ezio sitting next to me and Jacob sitting next to him, reading one of the magazines that was behind the seat. I was busy trying to decipher the writing in the book, writing down whatever I could successfully translate, but it was hardly anything.

"So ... are we heading back home lass?" Edward questioned behind me, sounding slightly deflated.

"Nope, we are going to Mexico." I answer, writing down a few more things completing a sentence, a small smile forming along my lips.

"Why?" Edward questioned, sounding a bit confused.

"I recognized this text from my own personal studies." I answer. "This is Maylasian text. Most of it lost in time as the civilization just ... disappeared."

"How does a whole civilization disappear?" Ezio questioned, looking over at me confused.

I shrug, "No one knows, some think it's because of some huge natural disaster or something along those lines." I felt the plane shake slightly as it hit turbulence, causing me to glance out of the window to see nothing but a layer of grey clouds below, lightning flashing in the clouds, lighting up the clouds for a moment.

I let out a sigh, "I should've brought my rain coat." Thunder echoed below, as I turn back to focus translating the text in the book.

The storm raged on, the wind howling, shaking the few trees that laid around the ruins. My clothes were soaked, as I begin to tremble as the cold rain pelted against my skin. Lightning danced across the sky, thunder booming after it, some of it being so loud it shook my body.

Every fiber of my being was screaming at me to head inside, normally I would listen, but this time was different. It's only a matter of time before Abstergo figures out the staff we "handed" to them was a fake, and when they do they will find a way to find the real one or track us.

Jacob, Evie, Connor, Haytham, and Edward didn't seem affected by the weather. From where they originate from ... I'm honestly not surprised. Henry even seemed to not be affected by the weather, but I can tell he would rather be inside.

Everyone else wanted to wait out the storm, which I'm not surprise. I would've wanted too, if I'm being honest. Altair seemed to be the one that gave the most arguments and complaints about the rain, not even wanting to get near a small puddle. He reminded me of Apollo, which would would freak out if one drop of water lands on him.

I walk up to the steep steps of the temple, remembering in the text of mentioning a temple built along the coastline where the staff was found. Only one temple came to mind, Tulum. It makes sense as well, it's not grand like some of the other ones, making it seem not that interesting compared to the others.

I began to climb up the steps, heading towards the entrance of the temple with the others following me in. I look over the edge to see the waves crashing against the shore down below, the palms moving with the wind as the storm began to grow worse.

I ducked under the ropes, taking out my phone, turning it on flashlight mode. I was able to charge it on the plane, allowing it to get some charge. I looked around, seeing a sort of square room, nothing but stone. As my eyes adjusted, I notice something looking similar to the staff.

I took a step towards it, only for the tile under my feet to dip down. "Oh c'mon." I groan, before the floor under me gave way. Edward, who was closest to me, reached out for me as I fell into the hole. But he was too slow, as I tumbled down into the darkness, landing into a pool of water, the taste of salt reaching my tongue.
