"We need four units of o-neg. bring that bench over here. All I could think was that he's gonna bleed out. We need more time. I was pissed, but then I thought, no we need less distance to the o.r., so-" Katherine said

"So you brought the whole damn car," George said

I pushed through some other doctors and surgeons.

"How is he?" I asked

"He's hanging on, barley?

"This isn't the way we usually do this." Said John he used to be chief of surgery.

"No, no, no, we see why you did it." Said Williams

"Ok look I just wanted to give him-." I cut through Katherine's sentence "A second chance. I understand and now we have a second chance."

"Hey Lucas, it's Eliza."

"Thanks for having me over. How's Joan? What's the word on my baby?"

"Don't worry we'll find out for you. We got you."

I went back into the hospital to put on some p.p.e. And move my hair back and AJ soon followed after me.

"Hey, it's like 11:30 we still got time." He told me

"AJ I know so let's do the best we can to save this man."

"And then you can try calling your boyfriend again."

"Would you-" I threw a pair of gloves at him

"Why you can't throw that-" "oh shut up and pay attention to the bigger issue." I said "asshole" I whispered under my breath

"I heard that Eliza. Why don't you just call one of his coworkers to calm yourself down."

"No, I'm fine now hurry up and let's go back outside."

"Fine."

We walked back outside and onto the tow truck where the smashed car was. Lucas started talking to me again.

"There's been a lot of talking. But not a lot of getting me out of the car. That's the plan, right - get Lucas out of the car?"

"That's the plan," I reassured him the hospital brought out those lights you see at football and baseball fields so that way we could see what we were doing.

"When Joanie called and told me she was pregnant, you know what my first thought was? Run like hell. We'd only had one date. And she agrees, it kind of sucked I think we had sex just to stop the awkward silence, and then boom insta-family-like sea monkeys. It was scary. Now I can't believe I ever felt like that. Now all I want to do is see them."

"York, we're ready to cut the roof." Said Anthony he was chief of trauma surgery and he liked to call me by my last name so for short now some people just call me York it's cool though so I don't mind.

"Okay, Lucas it's gonna get real loud and then it's gonna get scary, and then we're gonna get you out, okay?" I asked him

"Loud, scary, free."

"Okay." I got a firefighter jacket and made sure to cover his neck and face with it to protect him from the saw. I gave the thumbs up to the rest of the firefighters and they began. Once they finished Anthony, AJ, George, Katherine, Williams, and I went onto the tow truck and began trying to figure out how to stop some bleeding and get him out of the car since he was impaled I'm two places.

"Got it. Drawing labs." Anthony said

"No blood in the pericardium," AJ said

"Penetrating thoracoabdominal injury, ultrasound please," Anthony said
