~Chapter 15~

It was a new beautiful morning, the birds were harmonizing cheerfully into the secret symphony of nature and I could smell the scent of strawberry pancakes down the hall, beckoning me to the kitchen. Still, as I slowly opened my eyes, I noticed a mass of pillows and blankets tossed over next to me on the mattress and a pretty desperate Yoongi searching through them. When he noticed I was waking up because of the fuss he was making, he just smiled at me apologetically, then went back to his search.

"Um, babe? Are you gonna tell me what's going on?"

He blushed slightly at the new pet name, but then replied with a scared tone in his voice I hadn't quite heard before: "Well, I may have somehow lost the keys to my studio last night while we were.. you know.. And I really, really need them today because I was gonna start working on a new song, but now I can't even enter the studio and the boys are going to be disappointed since we really need a good comeback, you know? And I can't let them down, so I just-"

"Listen to me", I suddenly cut off his rant and grabbed his shoulders, making him give me his full attention. "First of all, you're not letting anybody down. You're literally one of the best paid music producers in the entire country, you know that, right? Plus, I might have an idea for your comeback."

Just as I finished my little pep talk, I held out the keys victoriously in front of his eyes, after finding them hidden under the blanket. He stared at me gratefully, but didn't say a word. He just grabbed my hand and we quickly headed towards his 'studio', aka his private apartment. Apparently, that was the only place where he could concentrate properly and create new masterpieces.

He took me to a small room on the second floor, but crowded to its limits with a variety of computers, a small piano and dozens of music sheets spread all across the floor.

"Okay, so now tell me your idea", he said, plopping down on the ground and grabbing a piece of paper to write on.

"Well, I thought you could try something new this time and use an acoustic instrumental in this song, not just computer beats. And I figured we could use my guitar for this. I mean, I could play in the background while you all sing.. you know? Something like that."

"Hmm, that doesn't sound so bad. Truth is I'm getting pretty tired of the kind of music I've been producing lately, as well.. some guitars are more than welcome. And not just some random sounds in the background, but the actual melody of the song.."
He smiled, and then announced: "This might actually work!"

He quickly presented me some bits of lyrics he had been working on, then we selected the ones that seemed to have the biggest potential, developed them, until we had the first verse and the beginning of the prechorus. And it sounded much better than I would've expected!

He made me sing what we created every two minutes, to make sure we were still on the right path, but it seemed like he really enjoyed listening to my voice, as well. And I enjoyed singing to him, so it was a win-win situation.

In about half an hour, we finally finished the prechorus, but instead of beginning the chorus, he insisted that we wrote the second verse first. And he finished writing it entirely in
eight. fucking. minutes.

Yeah, best paid lyricist in Korea probably had to learn from him.

When he finished with the verse, Yoongi decided to order some takeout and we just loosened up a bit, trying to sing what we had so far.

"Jen, you're seriously a genius. This sounds so good, and if we have the guitars too.. it's gonna be an all-kill. You really saved my ass today."

"Well, we haven't figured out the guitar chords yet.. That's usually difficult too, along with the chorus and the rhythm.. we still have a lot to do, don't get too excited." I countered, maintaining a realistic opinion on our progress so far. "But yeah, it sounds good. I'm proud of us."
