"Autumn!" Zak's voice vibrated through the house into my ears. My vision wasn't nearly as good as normal. I was in the dark and I couldn't even see my own hand. I knew I was seeing everything through Autumn's eyes. "Autumn! I am not messing around. Where are you?"
I felt her voice rise in her throat but freeze there. She didn't want to see him. She didn't want to see anyone. She felt so alone and lost. So confused... All she could remember was Zak and her name was Autumn. She could also have memories flash through her mind but then they were gone just as fast as they came. A pain in her throat that always throbbed like a constant reminder of what she didn't know. It was always there. She would dream about bleeding from her throat and wake up screaming, but the blood wouldn't be there. That was something I never knew happened to her and when we got out of this, my next mission is stopping the pain. She also always saw beautiful dark blue eyes and the image of a Lily necklace haunting her thoughts. She didn't know who it belonged to, but she had a feeling it belonged to the beautiful women sleeping in that glamorous bed that Fallon always kept watch over. That was all she knew.
She heard zak walk by her little hide out and pause two steps away. He retraced his steps and walked three steps away in the direction he came from and stopped. "Autumn. I can smell you here but your scent stops. Where are you?"
He started knocking on the wall above her head. She knew that he wouldn't figure out where the door was or that she was even there. If he tapped a foot lower, he would hear an echo throughout this little nook. She was silently wishing he wouldn't. She needed time to herself. Time to try and bring back the memories she lost. She was tired of being treated like a child. She wasn't one. She had no idea how old she was, but from what she saw of herself... she wasn't a child. She loved Zak, but she could definatly use some time without always secretly drooling over him. That was another thing I was unaware of.
Sighing, Zak muttered out to her something incoherent. "Autumn, please. Let me know where you are. I just need to know you are still alive."
She closed her eyes, drew in a deep breath and pushed the door open. He held his hand out to her and she took it. He helped her out and drew her in a hug. "Don't do that to me again. I need to know where you are at all times." He whispered into her hair. He pulled back and held her hand while starting to walk away.
"No." She stomped her foot down.
"No?"
"I need time to myself. I don't need you walking me to my room. I don't need you to treat me like a child. I am no such thing. Let me stay!" She yanked her hand back and crossed her arms. He slowly began to smile and tried stiffling a laugh. Autumn began to give him an amateur growl. One that was in her throat, not her chest.
"How about you try telling me that when you aren't pouting." He gave her his award winning smile that melted her inside and made her forget what she was saying. "Come on." He folded her arm in the crease of his elbow and escorted her to the pretty ladies room. "Wait here."
I came back to myself instead of her thoughts. "That was interesting."
"What was?"
"You like Zak?" I asked. Can't really say I blame her. He is gorgeous.
"Uhm." She blushed. "Nothing big. Is that what you were searching for?"
"No. Why didn't you tell me?"
"It just started when I came back to life. Is this really the place to discuss this?" Autumn looked behind me and back.
"I know you are freaked out, but remember that hiding place before I woke up that you were in?" I asked.
