I'll post songs every few chapters because I don't know that many x.x

I seriously had no idea what to do with this chapter for a week.

Thanks to all the battles raging around them, the trio that consisted of one jonin, one Hokage, and one trainee managed to get to their destination fairly unnoticed. There had been a few unfortunate clashes with some of the smarter Grass ninja that figured out what was going on, but luckily the black haired and glasses wearing female at the front of the group took care of most offenders with a punch or two and an occasional kick.

Just as they were able to see the smashed windows of the Hokage's office, a certain curly haired kunoichi appeared behind Boruto. "Thanks for saving me the energy of having to carry that girl over here, blonde," she hissed in his ear. Boruto swung his left arm behind in a fist, but Hareto easily caught it with her left hand.

"If you insist on holding on to that girl in this entire fight, you're pretty screwed."

Kansen woke with a jolt from the sudden movement. Her head felt slightly better. At least she had caught most of what her kidnapper had said. Comprehension came a bit slower than usual, but better late than never. Taking advantage of the blond jonin's surprise, Kansen quickly wriggled out of his grasp. She landed with a grunt slightly unsteadily on black roof tiles.

Boruto looked at the redhead incredulously, obviously wondering if she was stupid. Hareto took the chance to nail him in the stomach with a powerful kick. He staggered back with his blue eyes closed in pain, and would have fallen off the roof if his Uchiha partner hadn't put a hand on his back and pushed him forward so that he was now on his knees. Kansen now stood between the opposing jonin.

"You should know better than to let yourself be distracted, being a jonin and all," though she was facing Hareto, Kansen's words were clearly meant for Boruto, considering the disapproving tone.

"We've known each other for less than 10 minutes and I dislike you already, kid," came the male's reply. Sarada stood with her arms crossed and the same emotionless expression she bore since Kansen had met her and who knows how long before.

"The feeling's mutual," the eight year old reassured him. All traces of sarcasm or pity  disappeared from her voice, leaving only disgust. "I can fight too, you know. If I couldn't, I'd be a disgrace to the former ANBU captain that happens to be my legal guardian." She lowered her head, her eyes falling into the shadow of her blood red bangs and her mouth became a firm line.

Then bright blue streaks flared up around her in a sparking aura. Silent blue lightning traveled up her body, incinerating all roof tiles within a foot radius and leaving her standing on a slightly moldy and ash covered wooden ceiling.

When Kansen lifted her face and opened her eyes, her black irises were glowing a pulsing blue. Despite her height, the eight year old now intimidated the Grass kunoichi she had set her sharp gaze on.

With an unbelievably calm voice, she said, "Try capturing me now. I dare you to."

Sarada's eyes widened in surprise, her Sharingan picking up the enormous chakra signature of the girl she was supposed to protect. The amount of thunder natured chakra coursing through the jinchuriki's body was incredible. Without perfect control, that much electricity would have easily destroyed someone of Kansen's stature.

The tiny redhead smirked, issuing an obvious challenge. "Right now there are roughly 50 million volts running through my body. If you even so much as touch me, you're fried."

Ahaha I had originally intended to get to the Hokage's tower part with this chapter but I felt like that was a good place to leave off. ^.^ School's starting, so my infrequent updates are probably going to turn into rare occurrences soooorrrryyyyyy..............This is kind of a pointless arc so far but the good part's just starting 'kay?
