Pachebel's Canon in D Major. It's a nice and soothing song that I've been obsessed with for a while now, once I had it on replay for 3 hours straight XD
Another D rank mission. What was it this time....?
"The client wants their pet bird to be caught and brought back. Go check the forest," the Hokage ordered.
Well, a stray pet was no surprise nowadays. It was so peaceful that people became careless. Although a war had technically been announced four years ago, so far it was just an empty threat. Well, Kansen wasn't going to complain. The pay was satisfactory enough. It had already been two months since she graduated the Academy and became a genin. In fact, it was about time they got on some C rank tasks. Kansen was pretty sure they would be able to handle it.
"Actually, I take that back."
The jonin and three genin's heads snapped up in unison.
"I can see your boredom. Shikadai's team can have the bird. I have a perfect assignment for you guys right here. It's C rank."
Wow. Speak of the devil.
Sarada continued,"You will seek and capture a group of bandits in a town a few kilometers away from here. There isn't any reason to be gone for more than a few days. Get back here as soon as possible." As always, his orders were short. Kansen really did prefer it that way. Her style was "skip the small talk and get to the point".
Boruto nodded and left, opening the door on silent hinges. His three students rushed after him before the red double doors could quietly slam in their faces.
Without stopping, "Go pack your stuff for a five day trip." He continued stalking down the hallway.
"Why?"Penami piped up. "We're only going to be gone for two or three days."
"Better safe than sorry," Boruto finally cast a hard glance behind him. "Who knows what could happen."
*****
Half an hour later the team stood under the gateway arch of the village. Penami, Niju, and Boruto each had on double strapped blue backpacks, while Kansen shouldered a single strapped black messenger bag by her side. She tapped her foot impatiently, head tilted.
Boruto was getting approval from the gate guards for their departure from the village. It was the genin's first time out of the village, so their sensei was being extra careful. About everything. He'd even made them list the contents of their bags, which was thoroughly unnecessary. You would think that a group of kids trained to fight would know basic survival skills.
Finally Boruto took back some papers from the gate guards, stood up straight, and motioned for his group to follow him.
The first time out of the village wasn't dazzling and cheesy like all the books made them to be. It was quite plain, a wide path edged with forest. It was no different than the normal training grounds. The jonin kept his gaze straight ahead and walked along casually but with vigilance. Niju and Penami weren't sure of what to do, so they kept silent. Kansen stayed quiet since she found no point in breaking the nice silence. But alas, even she got bored after an hour or so. The entire journey so far was just walking. Walking, walking, and more walking. Kansen didn't feel like dealing with any of her teammates' personalities, so she turned to her bijuu.
What do you think will happen?
Why the random question?
If you have access to my thoughts then why don't you find out for yourself?
Your thoughts were so boring that I blocked them out.
What do you do all day?
Watch your life.
