Clarke's POV

I couldn't bare it anymore. I had to leave, I can't look into their faces everyday, I see the faces of the people I have killed for their safety. The guilt weighing down on my heart was too much. So I fled.

I don't know where I am going, just far away from Arkadia. This is all lexa'a fault. If she hadn't betrayed me and my trust I wouldn't be in this situation, turning my back on my people like this. We could have made it out...together. I shouldn't be thinking about this. I focus on where I am going and push all thoughts of her out my head.

3 months later

Suddenly, I jolted awake, looking around, there she was next to me with her blonde hair and brown eyes. Deep down, a tiny part of me wished that she would turn into a girl with brown hair and emerald green eyes. As the mistake i made dawned on me I fled, just like I had done 3 months ago at arkadia all I have to do is to keep reminding myself that i did it all for 'my people.' As I fled out of  niylah's hut. I stopped in my tracks. There she was, the commander.

Lexa's POV

As she stumbled out of the traders tent, her hair was different. It was pink. It was a nice change on her. As I snapped out of my thoughts she was looking at me with wide eyes and she froze. My heart sunk as she looked at me with hatred in those blue eyes of hers.

"Hello Clarke" I made sure i still had my stoic commander face on even though all I wanted to do was hug her close and tell her everything would be okay. She was broken, broken because of me. Without warning, I was pushed up against a tree with a knife tightly against my throat. I could feel the inky liquid drip down my neck. "Give me one good reason I shouldn't kill you right now" her voice was low and hoarse, she was dehydrated. "I'm sorry Clarke" my voice was quieter than a whisper but I knew she heard me.

Clarke's POV

As I stared into lexa's eyes, I could see she was being sincere. I couldn't help but break down. I had lost everything. My friends, my family, the ark. I had nothing left, except for lexa in front of me, the great commander was no longer there, it was just lexa and that was enough for me. As i was brought back to reality I realised I had let my guard down and was now slumped against the nearest tree, with tears rolling down my cheeks in pain. As lexa tried to comfort me I quickly brushed her off, she had betrayed me I had to show her that hurt.

"I'm fine" I explained giving her a death stare. "I want you to come to polis Clarke, for your safety." She explained, now emotionless however there was a sense of urgency in her eyes. "I could have used saving at mount weather but you weren't there for me then, so why should I go with you?" I retorted. "Because I can't lose you too." She immediately answered back. Without another word I nodded slowly. "You can't betray me again-". I started explaining and without another thought she replied. "I won't."
