Just A Bittersweet Memory

Chapter 19- Add Insult to Injury

I've been spending a lot of time with Mia since I arrived. The monthly meeting with Uncle Martin at the bar will also be tonight. It is Mia's day off so I won't be seeing her at the bar but I promised to visit her after the meeting.

Few hours passed and the meeting was uneventful. Uncle Martin was sorry about the dock incident. He said that he will contact his men to help us search for the leader of those who attacked us.

I was on my way to Mia's apartment. I left my car in the parking lot and I decided to walk. I skipped jogging for few days and planned to go back when my wound is fully healed.

While walking, a group of men surrounded me. A familiar face came out of the dark carrying a baseball bat and said, "Well! What do we have here? The infamous Lewis Alexander Parker!" He was clapping his hands.
I answered, "What do you want Liam Vega?" He replied, "I just want to play with you!"

I was trained in a hand to hand combat when I was younger. A 6 is to 1 ratio is not a fair match but I know I can take them down. Five men  attacked me and while I was busy fighting them, Liam hit me with his bat from behind. I left my gun in the car. I guess it was their lucky night cause Red and Neo went home earlier.

I began to feel dizzy. I tried in my power to dodge and hit. They kept hitting me, more on the right side of my chest. My wound is not fully healed and because of this I can feel that it's bleeding again. I can barely keep my eyes open after taking a lot of hits on my face. Two men held my hands. Liam told them to stop and then I passed out.

When I opened my eyes, I was in a dark, foul smelling room.
Suddenly, I felt somebody turned the lights on.
I saw Liam and some of his friends. He said, "Parker, do you still want to play?" I was trying to move but I was tied to a chair.
I answered, "Screw you Liam!" He was laughing then he changed into a serious tone saying, "I will never touch you again if you promise me that you'll stay away from my princess!"
I spit on his face and said, "You're insane!"

He hit my legs using the bat and I shouted in pain. He told me that him and Mia were both happy when I was in Italy. He said that they went out for a date and they kissed a few times.
He even told me that Mia was very good in bed. My physical wounds were painful, and to add insult to injury, listening to his stupid lies and the thought of him touching my sweet pea woke up the beast in me.

The good thing in having a hacker friend like Neo is that he was able to locate me by my phone and he sent some back up immediately when they noticed that I was missing. Red was with some of my men and they brought our toys, I mean our guns.

Three of them were killed but I asked Red to spare Liam, Reese and Peter. They were shot in their legs but the other  three who died were shot in the head. Do you still remember Peter and Reese? They were on the basketball team too.

In our world, we do not let the authorities handle this kind of situations. We are the law and we bring justice by ourselves. That night, I called Uncle Martin and told him everything about Liam and his obsession to Mia. He apologized and said thank you for sparing his son's life. I told him to look after Liam and to tell Liam not to cross my path again because I might want to get my revenge in the future.

Red, Neo and Me decided to go back to Italy so that our private doctor can take care of me. We owned a hospital in Italy. How about my sweet pea? Red asked Airy, Devan and Mia to pack their things cause we will be meeting them at the airport in an hour. We have our own private jet.

Neo told the girls what had happened. My sweet pea ran beside me. She never stopped crying as soon as she saw me in this situation. I couldn't recognize myself either.
She said, "I never thought that Liam will hurt you this way."

I answered, "He's obsessed with you sweet pea! The thought of him touching you really hurts me more than this bruises and wounds."

I asked, "Did you two kissed when I wasn't around?"
She replied, "Of course not! My lips are yours and I am yours!"
I was relieved.

I said, "My mom and dad will be happy to meet you."
She answered, "Oh this is not the way I expected them to meet me! I am here to take care of you!"
I said, "We will be staying in Italy for few weeks, you can return earlier if you wish."
She replied, "No! I will stay with you until you recover."
I answered, "How about your studies and work?" She said, "That will be my problem to solve Superman."
