Just A Bittersweet Memory

Chapter 27- It's been a Year

(Mia's point of view)

It was the sixth month of our senior year. How time flies! Lewis and Me were known as the power couple in the school. Our relationship was stronger than ever. We had few arguments but nothing and nobody could ruin what we have.

Airy and Red were also together while Neo and Devan were still dating but not yet in a relationship. Airy and Devan said that we're going to the mall after my shift at the cafe because Lewis will take me out tonight. I have to wear a pretty dress. I don't know where we're going.

After our little trip to the mall, it was time to get ready for our date. Airy told me that Lewis will pick me in her apartment so that we can talk about girly stuff, paint our nails and do our skin care regimen. I fixed my hair by doing the princess braid hairstyle. I used my new red laced undies. I was wearing the red velvet gown that we bought. Good thing it was already washed and dry cleaned before our date. The gown has pearly white beads on the upper part and with a long slit on the right side of the dress.

After few hours, my Superman arrived at Airy's apartment. When I opened the door, he gave me a dozen of red roses and my favorite chocolates. I had no idea what was happening.

He kissed me on the cheeks and said, "It's been a year sweet pea! I never imagined that I would hold on to this relationship for this long cause I don't do relationships. You, my Mia Cielo Paradiso changed my world upside down! I offer you my life, my heart and my soul!"

I cried because I forgot that it's been a year of togetherness and love. Yes this is LOVE! I suddenly jumped into his arms. I hugged him tightly.
I said, "I'm sorry my Superman!
I was just preoccupied with the school works and my job at the cafe!"
He wiped my tears using his thumb while saying, "It's ok my love, I understand!"
He kissed my forehead.

We went to a fancy restaurant. He rented it so that we can have our privacy. We enjoyed our food then we danced even without music. It was relaxing and comfortable because no one else was around except for the staff.

He whispered, "This red gown looks good on you sweet pea but your leg is showing because of that long slit. That makes me want to rip it."
I replied, "Don't ever do that cause I plan to wear this dress on our graduation day!"
He answered, "Oh really?, that dress won't survive till tomorrow!"

When we returned at the penthouse, our friends and families were there. I was just surprised that they also celebrated our anniversary here with us. Her mom told us that two weeks from now, she'll be sponsoring a Masquerade Charity Gala so all of us were invited. I've never been to an event like that. Lewis told me that her mom has been doing it annually for the benefit of the orphans. Many rich and powerful people will be there.

(Lewis' point of view)

I took Mia from Airy's apartment because they said they wanted to spend some more time together. I had a reservation from one of the fanciest restaurant in the area. It was really nice to have my father's connections here.

I knew how busy she was, both in school and at the cafe. I told her to stop working at the cafe but she refused.

When she opened the door, it was like a breath of fresh air. She had her hair done and even with a simple make up, her beauty is simply captivating.
That red velvet gown hugs her curves perfectly while that long slit in one side of her dress made me want to rip it. She wasn't even aware how sexy she was. That is why I love all of her. From inside and out, for me she's perfect! We are still young but I am already planning to make her mine. I do not know what the future holds but I know that no matter what happens, we will always find our way back to each other.

I called both our families and friends to celebrate with us at the penthouse. She was surprised and happy. My mom also informed us about the charity gala. I was a bit worried for her because most attendees were from rich families and many of them were my father's business (both legal and illegal) partners. Some of the members of the mafia will also be there so I should warn Red and Neo to be alert at that time. Red and Neo's families were members of the mafia too.
